[Blogs] True Life Seek reviewing Aya Matsuura’s 2007 Autumn tour

Aya Matsuura Tour 2007 Autumn ~Double Rainbow~

Broomhead’s approach to Aya’s Double Rainbow tour is largely in note form, and it’s actually rather refreshing. As far as tours and concerts go, this format that Broomhead uses might be worth noting. Straight foward, to the point and simple with authority. The actual review rarely feels stretched as a result, so even though it does go on, it’s still very entertaining and informative.

Each performance has it’s own spot for Broomhead to explore, and he does well to tie-in the current Aya with the old Ayaya, as many like to put it. In fact he uses the Double Rainbow tour as a vehicle to show how Aya herself has changed, or grown, and how her songs have followed suit. I’m with Broomhead on this one, that her recent work just isnt, well, wota friendly. In fact as Broomhead puts it, it’s rather generic and boring. Although I enjoy Naked songs a lot and found a rare gem or two on Double Rainbow, I’m not complaining with fans who simply don’t get on with it.

The conclusion ends the piece nicely with a very thoughtful few paragraphs, and broomhead uses Morning Musume as a device to prove how looking back on Aya is…well, different. It’s an interesting take on idol progression certainly, and how for groups, it isn’t the same. Recommended Reading.
