Never Heard This Song, Don’t Care
Hi, Minnasan – Which One Is Cuter? Just backdate to see the other two ‘Hi, Minnasan’ spots.
Firstly we have a very, very detailed review of Perfume’s latest single release ‘Polyrhythm’. The writing is as snark as always, and it’s exercised in a paragraph discussing the actuality of marketing singles in Japan, having a particular jab at H!P and all the different editions they ship out. The pessimist in me has to agree with Yoshimi there, but I’m generally an optimist with J-pop so I’m on the fence with that one. As always. Although the first few paragraphs describe the cover and booklet of the standard edition single, it’s stark quality in parts gives it a humour that carries you through to the actual songs. The star rating suprised me slightly, as it didn’t seem to match the overall feel I got from her break down of the tracks. Anyway, I think the single’s pretty decent. An enjoyable review.
Next, Yoshimi has a go at ‘Hello!Project 2008 Winter ~ワンダフルハーツ 年中夢求~ concert’ and the overall feeling about it is of the samey, boring and uninspired kind. I see where she’s going with this one, and a part of me shares the same concerns. Still, I haven’t seen this particular concert myself, but generally speaking, I’d say Yoshimi has a point in some of the cases. The tone of the post is very cynical though, and it may annoy some.
And now for all of the Jun Jun spots – three in total. What can I say? All Jun Jun fans will be happy, and I cant get enough of her hair in the latest ‘Hi Minnasan’ segment. Really digging the razor fringe there, and the dog she’s holding looks like it’s smiling.
