This is a staggeringly bad development. Fortunately, Chinamist moved all of his cool C-ute and Berryz remixes to other sites, YouTube included, but the big-screen thrill will be gone for now.
DivX is a stupidly run company. It decided to have its own monopoly site, and apparently does not allow DivX to be licensed to other sites. Now that this catastrophe has occurred, DivX is trying to hook up Veoh, the world’s worst video site, with DivX. That’s like a collaboration between Godzilla and Osama Bin Laden. It won’t work and can be deadly. To little, too late, to ridiculous.
Long live Yokaroumon (C-ute remix version), Shinning (sic) Star (C-ute version), Judy and Mary (Buono! version), Pop Music (Berryz, my favorite remix ever) and all the rest. DivX is a great concept — big-screen, high-res video and super sound — but idiots are running it and we will all pay the price.
