True Life Seek: Positive vibes on the latest HM@
Was Haromoni@ Worth Watching? February 24, 2008
True Life Seek’s liking the latest HM@, shock horror, although it’s only really in places. The writing itself has it’s usual to the point quality, and the theoretical near the end of the piece is certainly interesting. I see where it wants to go and I see what it’s trying to say, but I actually don’t think it say’s it that well. Maybe I have no right to say it but it’s just how I feel. It’s not like True Life Seek doesn’t have it in him though. Talking about HM@ as an advertising platform for the girls isn’t exactly straightforward though. So kudos for the effort.

I actually agree. It wasn’t the strongest argument that I’ve put together.
I think the nature of what I was trying to argue left me a little unsure to begin with. What is the purpose of MouTube? At least at the beginning and end of Haromoni, there are performances and advertisements for actual physical products. As far as them watching videos, I still don’t have a reason. I decided to bring up Onyanko Club because it seems that watching youtube videos is pretty similar to the “average girls doing average activities” mold. But I see a big difference between Morning Musume and Onyanko Club, the girls in Musume aren’t advertised as being average. Therefore, them doing average things doesn’t have the appeal that Onyanko Club did.
Mostly, I just want them to change formats.
