Surge of J-pop in the West gains notice

We have been surfing on it now for ages (at least I am) but is there any chance that the rest of the western world could learn to love J-pop & -rock? This debate whether Japanese popular music & culture could hit a big time in America has been on for a while and now Radicalpatriot makes his return to this subject. He refers to article published in Daily Yomiuri Online and notices recent J-activity in US club circuit.

For me US is far away and I can only talk about Finnish scene. Knowing Japanese popular culture is evidently fast growing trend here in my home country. Japanese alt.pop & rock bands are doing gigs quite often here in Helsinki, anime & manga are in and recently we have got even Finnish language manga & J-pop magazines.
