Recommended reading. Well, not a deathmatch exactly, but a battle of song versions pitting Berryz against C-ute. maiZe does an excellent job of placing it in context and musing on the current status of H!P.
She then takes it to the next level and wonders who could be pitted against Morning Musume, who have no peer in the Tsunku collective but whose first week sales of their most recent single fall behind Berryz and C-ute. (According to Oricon, I’m assuming - and even if you account for adjustments for other kinds of sales, theoretically that still leaves Momusu in last place of the three, or at the very least on equal footing with their kohai).
Interesting times indeed…
