[Radio] WMWM Interviews with Ketchup Mania & Detroit7
No Borders No Race: Episode 64 - THE SXSW EPISODE!
Recommended listening. Happened last week but still available for a little longer through the miracle of the internet and efforts of host Evan. KM has some insight about the difference between Japanese and American shows and club and con shows. And perhaps the dangers of picking up second hand slang.
Plus SCANDAL and Oreskaband get some airplay and some other good stuff.
If you’ve heard or heard of this show before he tends to hate on idol stuff (yet really loves anime and some mainstream pop–not having that argument again), but he really knows his J-rock/J-punk/indie-semi-whatever you wanna call it. This particular show is all love and the interview is a first, so I wish him luck getting more.

KM’s lede singer laughed when I mentioned “Hello Project” when we visited March 21 in S.F., but then acknowledged, surprisingly, that the popularity of idol music actually helps J-rock in an indirect way. Yes, members of KM and Deroit7 are both very open, very impressive people.
