Recommended reading. The first wave of responses to the new C-ute single have appeared already, and while it’s not the same volume of posts as Resonant Blue, the emotions run just as high… but are generally more positive.
Contrary to that last thought, Aoi♥Usagi tries not to be angry about the uneven line distribution as she explores that aspect of the song.
Andra has a long, well-screencapped review that focuses fist on how great Maimi is in the song and PV before turning attention briefly to each of the other members. She does a great job of this write-up, showing her writerly strengths to excellent effect here.
Hello!°C-ute has more screencaps from the PV.
Just Another considers this PV better than “Resonant Blue” and asks a rather pertinent question.
Valentine reviews both the Milky Way and C-ute videos in her post, being able to overlook Koharu and love “Anataboshi” for its other virtues, while finding “Namida no Iro” boring after a while and wanting to see a dance version.
Vee starts off with the question, “So, are we not supposed to be staring at their asses?” Well, I’ve been staring at those asses since “Ganbacchae”, so I don’t know what you’re talking about. Anyway, Vee does her own highly-detailed, beautifully-screencapped take on this video and the song, pointing out all the U15 sexiness on display in a very approving manner. I especially like how she focuses on the idea that Berryz and C-ute are now carving out distinct identities for themselves, something fans have been clamoring for for a long time.
Charmy☆Renai notes a similarity in the PV to “Ai no Sono ~Touch My Heart~”.
Tsukiki follows the PV as it goes along, noting how it progresses and liking it overall despite some perceived flaws. Unlike Andra, she finds Maimi is the weak chain of the link and not C-ute’s strongest.
And Strawberrie links to sites where you can purchase the single.
Overall, the response has definitely been quite positive, with the sexiness and maturity of the C-ute girls being a main source of joy for many. The lopsided line distribution hasn’t been nearly as controversial as it was in RB - maybe because you can actually SEE the girls who didn’t get to sing in this video. And implicit in many of the positive assessments is the idea that C-ute is fast becoming the major player in H!P - if not overtaking Morning Musume, then being on par with them.
And to close off, allow me to say in a Nelson-from-The-Simpsons voice: “Haw haw! It’s only a matter of time before you all become U15 loving pedobear freaks like myself!”

All skepticism melted upon seeing and hearing this video. C-ute has done it again. This song is not nearly as in-your-face as was “Tokaikko” but is nonetheless a quality, quality song and a brilliant PV. When is C-ute ever going to cool off? Maybe never.

If anyone found the girls the least bit arousing in “Gambacchae” then you have issues. There’s a limit to pedolicousness. “Namida no Iro” is fair game, though. Maimi is absolutely stunning.
