Akiramike is back at peak strength with this article, explaining how great acting is able to overcome the narrative shortcomings of this show, which stars SMAP’s very adorable Katori Shingo. Akiramike does find strength in the characterization, however, showing how the handling of a certain type can keep it from becoming shallow or cliched.
