Recommended viewing and reading. Our own Celestia shares a video of her Top Ten Silliest Arashi Dance Moves. I especially appreciate Celestia’s sharp critical standards:
All too often while making this video, I found myself squinting cross-eyed at a particular dance section and saying, “well sure it’s ridiculous, but is it unusually ridiculous?”
For some reason that reminds me of the Spinal Tap quote about the thin line between being clever and stupid. The video is a lot of fun to watch, of course, and the last three choices are especially memorable.
The entry then moves on to provide some more choice quotes that furthers the idea that Arashi is a lot like the Fire Island of Johnny’s: an idyllic but manly place where young men gather together and can be happy and manly together while loving each other in a manly, manly way.
