THE VINYL PAGODA PROJECT: Show-Ya “Kodoku No Meiru (Rabirinsu)”
Last week CJ bought a stack of random J-oldies on 45s. Just knowing what band or singer he’s listening to requires some detective work as many are white labels. It’s an interesting way to find stuff you never would. First in the stack is not quite one of the oldies expected but a hair metal band Show-Ya. Altho is a a girl band really “hair metal”? I’d say they are slightly more sensibly styled and musically above average for that subgenre. The singer being more of the J-pop type than the typical hair metal-type helps.
