I know I am a full week behind on Yorosen! writeups. So for anyone who was waiting with bated breath…Anyone? Anyone??? Bueller?????
Morningtime’s reviews of this show are far more entertaining than the show itself. And the week 6 episodes are especially not an exception. It was mostly Saki eating Yakiniku!
M has started to notice that two things are becoming a universal truth when it comes to Yorosen! 1) How entertaining the show is depends on who the Sensei is. Spazmonster Kusumi (Morningtime’s term) made the show interesting in her week. Captain Saki, boring. But I guess some people like when J-pop idols talk about meat in 4-minute segments, right? 2) The fifteen-or-so seconds of Manoeri at the end is the most exciting moment of every episode. Not only because she is cute, but it’s the only time you see the girls in Berryz do anything remotely funny, like make fun of Manoeri in the background!
I’m beginning to wonder how much longer this is going to go on? And when I say this, I mean how many more episodes can Morningtime bear to watch and screencap?

I’m not sure myself. Week 7 is good though. I’ve already covered that. Momoko is the best thing about Berryz as far as I’m concerned. When Miyabi gets a chance I’ll give her a go too. But I’m not too into C-ute so if/when they get a chance I’ll probably find the struggle of remembering their names is the killer blow. I’m also not looking forward to any Yorosen’s ‘hosted’ by Linlin or Mitsui. Maybe I’m wrong and they’ll be supremely entertaining though.
Considering Linlin has gotten the least screentime out of the current MM lineup, I’m quite looking forward to Linlin’s week, if she has one, in order for her to show us just how awesome she can be. (Note: I’m largely indifferent to Linlin, and that’s precisely because she doesn’t get much time to do anything and for me to form an opinion on her).
As for Berryz/C-ute, I’ve always found C-ute to be the more memorable of the two groups, member-wise. I’ve memorized most of their names and faces, whereas I could only really point out Miyabi and Momoko from Berryz. Maybe Captain Saki as well, sometimes. But C-ute has Chisato, Erika Umeda, Mai, Airi, and Saki. The other two I don’t notice as much, but for the most part, C-ute is very, very memorable.
For me I’m not particularly into either band. I’ll watch all the Yorosen’s most probably but I don’t fancy writing one where I spend more time trying to figure out someone’s name than I do actually writing or watching. Also I’m running out of ideas for stuff to say. Really I am. The show can be just so boring if the teacher isn’t completely bonkers in some way. I mean how do they think up the subjects? I’m looking forward to a show where the subject is Crop rotation in the 16th century (I wonder if that’s the first Young Ones reference on IW?)
As for Linlin…She had her chances to ’shine’ on Haromoni. At least as much as the other 8th generation. So okay she had a few brief moments. Even so of those few brief moments the 8th gen got only Junjun caught my eye. Linlin seems nice but not too interesting. Mitsui seems like she could be okay if she felt more at home in the group. I always get the feeling that she’s plotting everyone’s downfall though. I can’t shake that feeling. If Morning Musume were in a horror movie and were getting killed off one by one it’d be her unveiled at the end. You all ignored me or somesuch would be her reasoning. I say that and I actually like her. She has her cute moments but sometimes she doesn’t come across as well as I’d like. She can seem cocky where others such as Momoko or Sayumi would just seem jokingly cheeky. As for Linlin I’ll watch when she gets her chance and I wish her luck (and Mitsui too). I just won’t have my expectations too high. Well it hasn’t been so far anyway excepting Kusumi and Momoko. Does C-ute have any mad members?
I meant to say crop rotation in the 14th century you know. I’m terribly aghast.
