[Blogs] Where to Find Literature on Idols?

Crimsonietta.net
Frustrating lack of literature.
Let’s try something new…

Crimsonietta.net is a blog new to IW that occasionally covers East Asian pop music. It’s been around for a while, but due to the relatively few music-related posts as of late, it hasn’t been mentioned on this site until now.

At the moment, author Vivi is currently working on a research paper on the topic of

Topic: a study of the East Asian “idol” phenomenon throughout the generations from its beginnings in the 1960’s to the present (ex. Pink Lady, Candies, Onyanko Club, Morning Musume, AKB48, Twins, S.H.E, Wonder Girls, SNSD, 4GP, M-Girls, etc.)

but unfortunately hasn’t had much luck in finding literature on said topic. Does anybody have suggestions as to where to find useful resources?

In a later post, Vivi considers assigning themes to the days of the week so that different topics will be covered on different days. Perhaps we’ll see more frequent music-related posts soon (but only on Mondays??!!) …

Two books I have are “Nipponpop” by Steve McClure, which covers the background of J-pop in general and “Cruising the Anime City: An Otaku Guide to Neo Tokyo”, which covers otaku culture in general. Neither is too recent, but are pretty good for background.
