What’s in a Soloist? Pt 3 (Berryz pt 1)

Max is keeping himself busy trying to figure out who could be the next future solo sensation for Hello! Project.  In these two posts, he analyzes the 8th generation of Morning Musume, and then it’s half of Berryz Kobo.

Unfortunately nobody really fares well in these two posts.  And I must say I don’t disagree at all.  I mean maybe someone in these groups could possibly develop that kind of potential somewhere down the line.  But for now, everyone mentioned here either lacks the experience or the star power.  Well, maybe Tsuganaga Momoko has the popularity, but I don’t know if that type of vocal range is fitting for a solo career.  And this isn’t a knock on any of the girls.  Becoming a successful J-Pop soloist is not a road easily traveled.

That said, what I am really anticipating is when Max gets around to analyzing the members of C-ute.  At this point if any soloist is going to come out of the H!P Kids, I think it would come from them.  We will see what Max thinks.  Recommended.

By the way, what is up with Mittsi’s hairstyle in that pic?  She looks like Cameron Diaz in the “hair gel” scene from There’s Something About Mary!
