[Blogs] S.P.A.K.A. is a Blog for Kayo Aiko

S.P.A.K.A. (スパカ)

I believe that I stumbled upon S.P.A.K.A. through Hello!Blog’s blogroll, but I’m not certain. It certainly is an interesting blog. S.P.A.K.A. stands for “Society for the Preservation of Anything Kayo Aiko.” The blog was created during December 2007 and is run by jyoru.

Kayo Aiko’s music career has been inactive for almost two years; her last release was June 6, 2007. She runs a blog and that appears to be jyoru’s main connection in the celebrity-fan relationship. There just doesn’t seem to be a lot of material for jyoru to work with.

If anything, it is a strong display of dedication. A lot of recent entries have been reviews of Kayo’s singles. There are still plenty of entries that show off jyoru scouring the Internet to find anything Kayo Aiko related. The most notable of this are the entries “A Mysterious Picture” and “Confirmed!” Jyoru finds a very tiny image of what is presumed Kayo Aiko alongside Takahashi Ai, Kago Ai and Tanaka Reina. A month later, jyoru confirms that it was in fact “Kayo Aiko” and unravels the story behind the photo.

The blog isn’t all about Kayo Aiko, as there are entries and mentions of Koharu Kusumi, Perfume and Slayer mixed in. Still, it is obvious what the focus is on. As for the motivation, jyoru is hoping to one day actually meet Kayo Aiko. It may be a search that is depressingly futile; or it may not, as the pursuit itself may have meaning.
