Episode Two: The Audition prt.1 (itsumo genki)

isilwentari takes us to the 5th generation auditions from back in 2001. The girls were so cute and awkward back then. I remember watching these auditions back then, and I never would have imagined that Takahashi would become the leader of Morning Musume, let alone Hello! Project.

isilwentari goes through the first half of the audition, leading us through the current Momusu members (of the time) reactions to the addition of new members, and recap our first views of the 4 who would eventually make it into the group. I just recently re-watched these auditions (the first edition of this series made me really nostalgic) and I found it interesting to see that Aichan and Makochan viewed each other as rivals from the start. Too bad that third girl in the rival triangle didn’t make it… But then again after all this time, could you really imagine anyone else getting chosen for 5th gen? 5th gen without Konno and Gaki-san just wouldn’t be the same.
