Recommended reading. isilwentari feels as though Morning Musume is “slowly creeping backwards” in their style of music, but not in a bad way. Watching through the dance shot and reading a translation of “Shouganai Yume Oibito” makes her think of Morning Musume’s earlier singles which were of a more mature tone, taking a particular interest in discussing Morning Musume’s first single, “Morning Coffee”. isiliwentari examines both the dance and the lyrics in detail and is quite moved by this release.

She closes her post on a thoughful note, touching upon why it isn’t so bad that Morning Musume seems to be reverting to a previous style:

For all that they change, maybe they don’t really change all that much. Momusu is like the seasons. They go from mature, to genki, to slightly sad, to enraged, to hopeful to mature and so on and so on, always changing ever so slightly but always the same Momusu.
