Have you heard the NOIZ? (Igin+ion)
superhappygenki of Super Happy Genki Hyperforce Go! has got another new blog up and running, this one taking on J-Music of the the non-idol variety. As genki’s tastes in music continue to broaden, she felt she needed a separate space to talk about it. Past her intro post, genki has a few interesting posts lined up, including a introduction to the band from which the blog earns its name.
At Animazement, an annual anime convention in North Carolina, genki had the opportunity to see Uchuu Sentai NOIZ. The J-Rock/Visual Kei group has an interesting style to accompany their music, as is to be expected of this type of performer; but of particular interest, as the name implies, is the sentai theme that they incorporate into their art. I’ve not personally heard of Uchuu Sentai NOIZ, but checking out their unique style, both visually and musically, it has got me a little bit intrigued. genki describes the opening and ending portions of their concerts where they act out these sentai roles, which on the surface sounds a little bit cheesy, but as genki continues, “it’s fun,” and I can see how it could be.
What follows is a brief on the members of the group, where genki notes that outside of Kotaro, one of two guitarists and Angel, the voice of the group, the other three members don’t stand out too much. The accounts of the concerts themselves however, make the group and their stage presence, again, sound like they’d be a fun group to watch. genki recommends that if you can see the group live, you definitely should go for it.
I recommend you all check out the post and the group as well, tho of course this style isn’t for everyone. Be sure to read up on the rest of Igni+ion’s line up and keep tabs on the blog for new and interesting accounts and opinions that are sure to come.
