AKB48 Election! (No AKB No Life)

The release of AKB48’s new single Namida Surprise is upon us.  And with that begins the Senbatsu voting process.  If you aren’t familiar, the latest gimmick is to give the fans (and CD buyers) an opportunity to vote on who will be performing in AKB48’s next single, which is due to be released late Summer.

Hina illustrates how the campaigning and voting system works.  All of the members (including the Kenkyuusei and SKE48) are eligible, and each girl did a campaign video to plead their case.  Hina has a bunch of samples, with a focus on her favorite member Masuda Yuka from Team K.  Jeez, I just noticed that most of the AKB48 bloggers we regularly cover here are Team K fans.  RSL (Nacchi), Cat (Yuko), Heiwa and Ange (Sae and Sayaka), Dekiru Onna (Sayaka), and of course CJ and myself (Meetan).

Hina also has directions on how the fans can vote.  They have made it a bit tough for overseas fans to participate.  But if there is a will, there is a way, right?
