As much as I adore Kago Ai, I was still surprised how much I loved her debut single.  Especially the second track. “Children of the Night”.  I am glad I am not alone as a few other bloggers give the single a glaringly positive review.

Something that I keep hearing is that the single is a sort of metaphor for Kago’s recent history.  Amirulez sees this as a big step forward for Aibon.  She has definitely matured physically, but her voice still maintains her patented cuteness that stole the hearts of J-pop fans years ago.

Private Laughter’s review is a three-parter focusing on the CD cover, the songs themselves and finally the PV.  I completely agree with her that Children of the Night could very easily have been the A-side track.  She loves both songs, but feels Kago sings the 2nd track a little better.  And the chorus behind it really amps up the beauty.  Ultimately she sees the total package as a winner, and is looking forward to the next single.

Finally MB loads us up with full pics of the accompanying mini-pb, the PV and uploads of both single tracks.  She loves Kago’s perfect blend of maturity and youth that embody both tracks.  She is enamored with the “spoken word” section of the second track, which will bring you visions of the Kago of old.

To add to that, I think the single is a great combination of cuteness and maturity…introspection and optimism.  Yes, you can say that I am impressed too.  WTG Kagochan!
