I was really happy to see these profiles as I am a fan of both groups.  Zac catches us up on the two bands, which have both been gaining in popularity.  Scandal was a cult sensation in Osaka and just breaking in the national market before joining the 2008 Japan Nite tour.  Shortly after they were signed by Sony and are about to release their third major label single.  If you haven’t seen or heard them yet (what are you waiting for?) they are like AKB48 with screaming guitars and lots of attitude!

Oreskaband has been around for six years and is already well known in the U.S. after two years on the ‘Warped Tour’.  I love their unique look and sound.  I mean how many Japanese girl groups can be described as party-ska-pop with a mean horn section?  In addition to the bios, Zac has linked a few new and old videos of both bands to get the full flavor of what they are about.

Both Scandal and Oreskaband are lots of fun, well worth checking out if you haven’t already!
