Today’s Morning Musume related events began with the Opening Ceremonies at 9:00 AM but didn’t actually get started until closer to 9:45. The girls received a roar of a welcome when introduced by the speaker and hopped on stage. Some audience members were all ready with glowsticks in hand as well.

Leader, Takahashi Ai, addressed the fans and they took their seats.

Moi Dix Mois took the stage after them and the contrast between them was quite interesting.

Also on the Guest of Honor list was seiyu Morikawa Toshiyuki who, among a large list of other roles, was the voice of Final Fantasy 7’s Sephiroth. Takahashi Ai has been known to love the Final Fantasy series and was pleasantly surprised when she heard he was just at the opposite end of the table. Morikawa was asked to end the Guest of Honor welcome by reciting a line using Sephiroth’s voice which caused Ai to jump and gasp. Ai’s fangirling was quite adorable!

The next event with Morning Musume was their Q&A Panel at 2:00 PM and will be reported on by maiZe when she finishes transcribing. Please allow a few days for that post to be up and look forward to it!
