Arashi’s Aiba stars in television drama
Shingo Murakami added to “My Girl” cast
Ryosuke Yamada plays “Left-Eye Detective” (Tokyograph)
Two new dramas from some popular Johnny’s are coming soon to your television (read: computer)!
This makes me happy. The type of dramas that Johnny’s boys tend to be in are the most interesting to be produced in a season sometimes. And the fact that two of my recent faves are going to make appearences in them!?! It cannot get any better than this. (Well, it can, but let me fangirl for the moment).
Arashi’s Aiba Masaki is set to star in “My Girl”, which looks like it’s going to be an interesting story involving a high school love story, death, and a big secret. Read the article for more information. But I’ve not heard of Japanese drama with that kind of storyline. Kanjani8’s Murakami Shingo is set to appear in the drama, though the importance of his character, and therefore the frequency of his appearances is uncertain at this point. Hopefully it’s something like Arashi’s Ohno and Kanjani8’s Maruyama had in Uta no Onii-san.
Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke is starring in “Hidarime Tantei EYE” (Left Eye Detective EYE). His role is that of a high school student who has the ability to see strange visions with his, what else, left eye due to a corneal transplant from his dead older brother, who is played by Kanjani8’s Yokoyama Yuu. Personally, I have no interest in anything HSJ, so I’ll probably be watching just for Yoko’s scenes! Keep an eye out for these dramas!

I’ll reserve any judgments before watching them or hearing about the buzz. Most JE-centric dramas are hit and miss. They could range from awesome to absolutely horrible. BTW, you may not care about HSJ in a drama, but there are probably millions of school girls screaming their heads off as i type this. Yeah, I don’t get HSJ either, but the kids seem to LOVE them.
