AKB48’s Itano, Kasai join “Kamen Rider Double” (Tokyograph)
AKB’s making it’s first entry into the tokusatsu world! Itano Tomomi of Team A and Kasai Tomomi of Team K are appearing in Kamen Rider W (aka Double) as semi-regulars starting from episode 7, which airs next Sunday. I’m not 100% sure what semi-regular means, but considering Japanese Wikipedia puts both regulars and semi-regulars in the same section of cast lists for previous Rider series, and all of the names in the list have pretty large roles with a good amount of screentime, I think this means we’ll be seeing a lot of them in future episodes. I’ve already seen the episode 7 preview, which includes two scenes of the two girls, and I totally can’t wait for this! They look super cute.
I’m not that surprised AKB is finally getting some girls cast in tokusatsu. After Morita Suzuka from Idoling!!! was announced to play one of the main roles in Samurai Sentai Shinkenger this year (I’m not that into Idoling!!! (yet) but wow she’s way adorable), I figured AKB and maybe even Hello! Project couldn’t be that far behind. Come on H!P, your turn now, get a girl into one of the main roles for the 2010 sentai series! =P

Man, KR Double didn’t make me enjoy as much like the previous KR..

I’m actually really loving Double. The aesthetic is a lot of fun and the intrigue with the Sonozaki family is developing little by little each week. Decade was my first KR and it’s special to me for that reason but I feel like the characters are a little deeper in Double despite the fact that they act much more densely.
If you’re looking for a nice serious KR you might want to try Faiz or Kabuto. =)

I didn’t like Decade much at all, I felt like they ruined the original worlds/characters. Maybe that’s just because it was hyped so much as the huge 10th anniversary series bringing everyone back, so people were expecting the original actors, but… I thought it got better by the end though, I liked the Decade-original worlds a lot. And Den-O and Shinkenger worlds were awesome XD
On the other hand, I love Double <33 I love the memories, since it's definitely something that hasn't been done before, and two people as one rider is really interesting. I love the characters too XD
I loved Faiz
It's one of my favorites…
