[Review] a-nation 09. I mean ayu-nation. Who am I kidding. (Pink Wota)
Well, according to Pink Wota that is. Vee has so graciously written out a review for those of us who didn’t want to sit through the Ayumi part of the a-nation concert. And it’s from watching this concert that Vee has realized why some people may dislike Ayumi so much:
It has less to do with dislike for her talent and more to do with the fact that she is considered a “given”, being treated by many almost as necessary evil these days. To make an omelet, you have to break eggs – to hold a successful outdoor tour totaling at 6+ hours, you have to factor in about two hours worth of Ayumi.
In addition to it being about two hours of Ayumi, it’s two hours of predictability. The way the concert progresses just becomes stale and tired. “We’re used to it, we’ve seen it before, it’s nothing new, and we WANT something new,” seems to be the tone of this piece. But for however predictable and weak the act starts out, Ayumi finishes strong. This review is definitely worth reading. Vee’s strong and informed opinions on Ayumi’s performances are fun to read and make me want to watch the concert just so I can see where she’s coming from. Not to mention there’s eye-candy involved!
