Madara’s Indoctrination Into the World of AKB

AKB48 in New York, Part 1 (Madara Blog)
AKB48 in New York, Part 2…The Concert begins
AKB48 in New York, Part 3…The Concert revs up

So I am standing in line at Webster Hall, and as I venture up the steps who do I see standing in the front of the press line?  It was Madara!!!  I recognized him from Anime Expo, and called out his name at least three times, but to no avail.  He didn’t hear me.  :(

Like with AX, Madara was sent by Otaku USA to cover AKB48 in New York.  While admittedly having limited experience and knowledge of the group, he did his research and came up with an excellent report in three parts.  The first part focuses on the second day of NYAF, which featured AKB’s Q&A panel and mini-live on the show floor.  Madara transcribes some of the highlights, and has some great closeup photos.

Parts 2 and 3 focus on the big concert at Webster Hall.  Again Madara has some great photos despite not being able to use flash.  In fact, I see myself in the background of at least one of the pics (hehe).  You also get a good look 2 of the day’s infamous characters.  First the security guy who kept yelling at the crowd outside all afternoon, and then the “Dad” with his two little kids who wasn’t allowed to enter due to the 18+ policy.

Madara is obviously an H!P fan first, but I think he did a fair job of analyzing the show.  And maybe….just maybe we AKBers attracted yet another fan to our minions!
