Morning Musume, Berryz, C-ute, Mano & Buono sales comparisons (Morningtime)

Morningtime has gone and tallied up the sales of singles by Hello! Project’s 4 main groups, listing them first in order of release date by group, and then taking all 4 groups (and adding in Mano Erina) listing them in order of total sales. It’s interesting, if not exactly surprising, to see that Buono! is the only group to have a single which sold more copies than a Morning Musume single. However, it’s sad to see that Berryz Koubou’s single have such low sales numbers. I knew this before, but I would definitely take almost any of their singles over C-ute’s and Mano Erina’s any day. And this is not out of loyalty to Natsuyaki Miyabi – Berryz Koubou’s earlier singles are seriously awesome.

Morningtime then goes on to compare album sales, and it’s much of the same. Buono! once again is the only group to outsell a Morning Musume album (outside of Cover You. However, I have to say it’s depressing to my eyes to see that C-ute’s 3rd album is the highest selling album between C-ute and Berryz. I don’t know about all other C-ute fans, but I’ve found their albums (outside of their first one, but a lot of those songs were covers) to be disappointing, while I’m usually quite happy with Berryz Koubou’s albums. To make myself feel better, I’m attributing the higher sales to the cute outfits on C-ute’s 3rd album.
