PENGIN and the invention of “heart-rap” (unchained)

Recommended reading and listening. pengie at unchained has quite the track record of introducing me to new interesting artists and this post continues in that vein. This time it’s a rap trio called PENGIN, though due to their lyrical content comprising mostly of love, happiness and other hippie silliness, she likes to call them “heart-rap.” I’m not much of a rap guy but when I do listen to some, it’s mainly of the variety where the rappers are threatening to punch me in the teeth for whatever gangsta reason they have. As such, this type of “genki rap” is actually a very refreshing listen for me. Whatever your view on the genre is, I urge you to give a listen to the tracks pengie’s shared in the post. You might actually be surprised how feel-good it all sounds!
