Taking on some these huge Box Sets for a full Track-by-Track review is a gargantuan task.  In fact I haven’t seen anyone complete a review for AKB48’s entire Budokan Box set to date.  I own it…haven’t tried it.  But some are taking it on disc by disc.

RSL is taking on the first night of AKB’s 3-show set in Budokan from last Summer.  Instead of a bunch of photos, he decided to paint the picture himself with a detailed review of every song in the set.  Something unique RSL brings to the table is a background of each song.  Who has performed it in the past, along with comparisons to previous shuffle units doing the same song.  He also notices things that would never get my attention on first, second or even third viewing.  So the fun here is to read this review then go back and watch the show again.

Wendy has finally decided to review each of the four nights of AKB live at Shibuya AX from January 2009.  These posts cover the first two.  I have always loved Wendy’s format of reviewing concert DVDs…  Photo, rating, snark…photo, rating, <3 <3...  Although I was admittedly bummed out when I saw that she gave some of my favorite performances mediocre scores.  The great news about both of these reviewers is they both promise a completion of their respective muses.  So if you are enjoying their takes you’ll have more to look forward to.  Especially since both DVD sets are great!
