Momusu’s 1st gen: Great generation or the greatest generation? (Slasha’s Tatami Mat)

Good ole’ Slasha takes us on a ride down memory lane with a visit to the original Morning Musume circa 1998.  In addition to saluting them for starting what would eventually be Hello! Project, he declares them the all-time best generation for their perceived purity.

I get what Slasha is saying, but I don’t know that I would use the word “pure”.  In any case, it is nice to see a little mention of Fukuda Asuka who was so talented and often overlooked due to her short tenure with the group.  I still say the DVD of her graduation was the most affecting of any grad DVD I have ever seen, including Nacchi’s!

When you view them side by side, it is hard to believe today’s Morning Musume and the one spoken about here are the same group.  But I still love em’ both!
