What Do You Think of ‘Pucchi Best 10′?

Why the hate on revival group songs? (Hotaru’s Enlightenings)
Pucchi Best 10:  The Year of Many Groups (Conflict Productions)

I must admit I have never been a collector of the “Pucchi Best” series.  It makes me wonder why I bought these singles all year, only to have a random best-of appear in December.  Looking at the tracklist I have collected half of these singles already.  And I am guessing many of you have too.  But I digress.  Two bloggers have done reviews of the CD, focusing on the new “shuffle” groups.  We will begin with Hotaru…

After reading the intro, I fully expected Hotaru to explain why so many people don’t like the new shuffle songs.  Instead Hotaru explains how the new tracks fit the tradition of these classic sub-groups perfectly.  The only complaint here seems to be a lack of focus or concentration by Tsunku.  Once again, this is where a television program would come in handy where we could see the team dynamic for each group.  But I guess we will see what’s in store for the winter concerts, where these teams will be featured in the spot once occupied by the Elder Club…

Siggy rates the entire album on a 10-point scale, but first gives a personal and “wiki” background on each unit.  BTW, I had never seen the cover of the CD before.  It’s pretty cool!  Airi and Miyabi make out well, as Siggy loves both the Buono! and Aa! tracks.  I am interested in hearing the Shin MiniMoni song as their first single was one of my faves on the “Champloo” CD.  He gives the album a 7 (actually it was a Se7en, although I’m not sure why there is a K-pop reference here).  He actually liked the CD a lot more, but felt that the ill-selected Manoeri song brought down the entire album.

So is the CD worth the buy?  To me the jury is still out, but I would love to hear more opinions.
