Request Set Best 100 2010 Predictions (sangackt’s blog)
Request Hour ~Setlist Best 100 2010~ (Prelude) (MELOS no Michi)
Let’s Speculate: Request Hour Setlist Best 100 2010 (I’m moving to Japan just because of AKB)
Yes, AKB48’s Huge 4-night Winter concert is upon us. In fact as of this writing the doors are probably open and the fans are fighting for a good spot. In the meantime, a few bloggers take a stab at what the elusive Top 100 list might look like. The 2008 and 2009 versions of this concert series were very different. In 2008 the top of the list was dominated by AKB48’s most recognized songs. While last year saw many more “stage songs” claim the top spots. Most notably Team B’s ‘Shonichi’, which to the surprise of everyone took #1 over Oogoe Diamond (and to the surprise of Kobayashi Kana…Kurukurupaa, hehe)
Let’s give a warm welcome to Sangackt, who is being covered for the first time on IW although he has been an online buddy of mine for a while now. Sangackt has been digging on SKE’s Team S lately, and he has high hopes for two of their songs. If you ask me, I think we may see more than two. They just released two DVDs, and S2 got plenty of great buzz after SKE made their Akihabara debut. Sangackt also has high hopes for the cute Tonari no Banana.
For the uninitiated, Melos gives a background on the Setlist concerts, including the Top 100 from last year AND the preliminary top 20 that was released early in the voting. Melos figures we will see more Team B love, considering their fans always seem to have a trick or two up their sleeve. However, he sees a couple problems for Team K. First off, their current Stage in the newest of AKB. The other issue is that so many Team K members have solo songs. As a result each girl’s fans may stick to voting for those songs only…
Hmmm, could that mean we will see an encore performance of Amai Kokansetsu? As big a Meetan fan as I am, I’m ashamed to say I didn’t vote for it. (Uh oh!
)
Silver Rain goes into a detailed speculation that includes too many songs to list here. Instead of Team B dominating, perhaps their fans will be split since the Team now has two original Stages. SR also sees the possibility of SKE faring a lot better than we think. And like me, hopes we see more SDN representation than just ‘Black Boy’ . I found myself saying “ooh, I hope so too!” often during this read!
Something of note, one of the cool things about the AX DVDs is watching the antics of the girls on the risers behind the performance. However if the pics the girls have been posting on their blogs is any indication, the setup looks a bit different from the first two years. So I wonder, does this mean they aren’t doing that this year? I hope it doesn’t! But we will find out soon enough!

You know, we Team B fans aren’t evil or anything. Why is it that when it comes to these Shibuya AX concerts, fans always think the B fans cheated or did SOMETHING to get Team B songs high up in the ranking? Team B fans are just devoted, that’s all, and last year was great for us, to see the girls finally getting the recognition they deserve. Yet, all the fans of the other teams thought it was wrong and whatnot. They wouldn’t be saying that if it was an A or K song at the top spot. Each team deserves to have one of their songs at #1, it just so happened Team B won last time around. Do I expect them to get #1 again…maybe, but I think it would be cool to have a Team K song in the #1 spot this time around.

You should voice your frustrations toward someone who’s actually against you, as it doesn’t look like the author of this post, nor any of the posts he linked to viewed Team B fans in a negative manner.

My post was more directed towards the comment that Team B fans “seem to have a trick or two up their sleeve.” Also, Melos also said on his blog that Team B fans “group” together to get B songs higher. It just makes it seem that B fans are kinda trying to screw the other teams over, along with their fans, when all we want is to see Team B have some of their songs rank decently.

Relax Aigon, jeez! First of all, I was just paraphrasing what Melos said in his post. Second, we are just making reference to the scuttlebutt that went on after last year’s shows. Nobody is accusing Team B fans of anything negative. It’s all in fun. In fact I was talking to a few SDN fans about what we could do to boost their song rankings. Okay???

Oh I know, I’m just remembering last year all to well. It was a great moment for Team B (and the fans as well), but a lot of other fans kinda ruined it by complaining and bitching about it and whatnot, making it out to seem like it was the wrong choice. But I digress.
Like I said, I’m kinda hoping to see a Team K song in first place this year around. I figure its about time they get one. I don’t recall what came in first in the first AX concert, but I can only assume it was likely a Team A song, so I think Team K getting a song in first in the ranking would be kinda cool.

First of all, I have nothing against Team B whatsoever. I like Team B, I like Shonichi. I am not accusing the B fans of cheating or screwing with the other Teams and their fans or anything like that. I just have a hard time believing that the team with the least number of frontgirls and least number of fans could get a song to the no. 1 spot. Well the small number of B songs helps but it’s still hard to believe.

Yeah, “would” be cool. Although I can’t imagine which K song would pull that off this year. My guess for #1 is RIVER. Not a bold prediction, I know.
