I JUST HAD AN EPIPHANY!!!! (aka. OMG I’m getting old D:D:D:) (Aitakatta!)
Enough of This Nonsense! (Idolgasm)
( `_)乂(_’ )。。。。。(;´□`)! (モーニングBerryz…the morning after…..)
My fandom is better than yours! … This is a sentiment that you come across quite often across all genres of entertainment… Star Wars versus Star Trek, Backstreet Boys versus NSync (okay, that’s a little dated XD), Team Jacob versus Team Edward, etc. But the question looked at by the following bloggers is why do we feel the need to put down other fandoms?
Cat at Aitakatta! had an epiphany in the aftermath of Kago Ai’s tweet about Hello! Project being better than AKB. After initially being upset that Kago would say something so “unclassy”, she quickly came to realize that other opinions don’t matter to her because [insert epiphany here] she has outgrown the Hello! Project. Now, she’s not exactly bashing on Hello! Project, but for her, the fact that the members continually get younger (ex. S/mileage will have their major label debut later this year) is making it harder for her to relate to what Hello! Project is releasing.
CK at Idolgasm is getting exasperated with the war that is in place between Western fans of Hello! Project and AKB. He takes note of the fact that most of the hate is coming from the Hello! Project fanbase, which I cannot disagree with. CK is a fan of both fandoms, though his interest has been shifting more heavily towards AKB recently. With that said, he has no reason to bash on Hello! Project, as there are still many aspects within the agency that he adores. He takes a look into why he feels that some Hello! Project fans are so set on bashing on the AKB fanbase, but in the end feels it’s all just a colossal waste of energy.
Finally, MorningBerryz takes on the role of mediator. It is no secret that MB is a fan of a huge amount of fandoms – her blog is a major source of information for all sorts of genres in Japanese culture. The main message that she has to share is one of respect.
While we may not all agree that song A by artist B is the greatest song of all time, someone else does, and who are we to say that their opinion is garbage? If we all liked the exact same things, life would be monotonous… Isn’t variety supposed to be the spice of life?

There are some kpop fans I can think of who would benefit from reading this
Really though, fandom wars are so epickly pointless and draining. Everyone experiences fandom in a slightly different way and, if someone’s enjoying the fandom they’re in, then they’re clearly getting something out of it. Just because A doesn’t get it, is no reason to start bashing.
Meh, I say that, it did take me a couple of years to get to that stage *used to be one hell of an elitest*
HAHA… I will let it out … I as a H!P, fan am secretly insecure that AKB’s dominance will cause Tsunku to become exasperated and say ” Fuck this shit, I am going home” … There I said it…
) and that is the superficial fact.
ANd that is where the fear happens, it results in the bashing… I for one don’t really care for many of AKB’s girls ( save for a couple of AWESOME SEXAY KITTIES, Sayaka-sama, Longcat and Yukorin
If H!P ever dies a natural death, I will still follow the girls, but that will be the end of my fling with the Idol World. back to 2d anime for me XD
I hate it when I try to go on a forum for one group I am a fan of and find people bashing another group I am a fan of. HATE IT! These stupid fandom wars themselves prevent a lot of people from coming to appreciate multiple groups, because they see their own fandom being attacked.
I agree completely with what everyone said.
TBH, I enjoy reading flame wars because to me is fun to read people wasting their energy in endless arguments, or calling each other. And sometimes, between all the trash, you can pick some few reasonable arguments. But recently, I feel like people of both fandoms just can’t look things from an unbiased way. They also can’t enjoy their fav groups because they get bashed, and can’t enjoy the ‘rival’ group without feeling the need to bash it aswell. And others just take the dramatic route and start banning mentions (and people!) of the group they dislike xDD I think we all need to chill. Or lay down the internet, dunno.
This has always reminded me of the ugly rivalry that went between Ayumi Hamasaki and Koda Kumi. Remember when Kumi Kuu started to raise into fame, and Ayu’s sales started to decrease? And Ayufans were calling her a slut, and Kumifans were defending her talent and her hard work? It happens everywhere!!! LOL
Do I spy a Meetan Avatar?
Yup

What everyone says is true, but to me it’s not too big a deal. It seems that H!P fans are always bashing the H!P girls they don’t like, and I haven’t witnessed this personally but some AKB48 fans must do the same, so I don’t see why it’s a huge deal that people bash the groups they don’t like either. People stating their opinions is no biggie, but insulting other people for their choice of fandom and pushing your opinions on them is where I draw the line.
