PEACEFUL Profile Page – Studio Runtime
This is how friendships are made on the internet. First, there is a sharing of interests – jogii knew I love ZONE, and a month or so back told me that the three non-hospitality-career-oriented members of the defunct band had been performing together. That brought joy to my heart, especially since it meant new photos of the hotness that is Tomoka, and jogii earned my gratitude for the head’s up.
(And really, they should just get together and release new material, ZONE is long overdue for a comeback, even without Mizuho. What the hell, why not bring in Tattsu of MARIA as their new drummer? That would be incredible!)
Then last night, I received the following tweet:

I assumed correctly she meant Studio Runtime, or Runtime Entertainment. I watched the clip, which was quite brief, but showed some promise. The name PEACEFUL seemed a little odd, but no odder than Dorothy Little Happy or Not Yet. Maybe it had a similar backstory to ZONE, whose name came from a desire to go from Z (last) to ONE (first)? Maybe this group is encouraging healthy eating by making you eat PEAS until you’re FULL?
I also remembered that ZONE debuted as a traditional idol group before picking up musical instruments and pondered the possibility of these girls eventually donning black robes and becoming the idol world’s version of Sunn 0))).
Then, the first tweet was followed up by another…

You see that? Did you? jogii knew EXACTLY what to say to make me care for the group even more than I would have otherwise! A quick look at the page had me choose a favorite, Rika. I found out which girls wanted to be squirrels and which ones wanted to be rabbits, and thought of appropriate plushie scenarios. I forgot for a moment that there was music involved in this group. Then I watched the clip again and realized the music is SHEER POP GENIUS.
Oh, sure, it may seem to outsiders like jogii was pandering to my basest pedobait instincts with that second tweet, but jogii understands – pandering to my basest pedobait instincts is WHAT THE IDOL WORLD IS ALL ABOUT FOR ME.
And so, a toast to PEACEFUL, I’m looking forward to their storming the idol world and winning the hearts and minds of the wotasphere. And here’s to jogii, who will hopefully direct me to even more sweet young things that will tickle my fancy. My sick, twisted, old man fancy. Cheers!
