Hi people… guess what this post is about? More news! Damn, if only they churned this earlier I wouldn’t have to double post, but this is pretty big, so I thought it deserved its own post anyhow.
So, looks like Tsuku isn’t the only one in high hopes of conquering the world, but while Tsunku has managed to bore all of Japan with MM and is now heading for Asia, Akimoto is going to try and take over Japan. Yeah, just like you read it fellows, in words of their management “AKB48 is going to expand through the country” WTF? This was bizarre enough, and then came the real news: Oh hi new Akimoto project!: SKE48. I’m not even kidding. I wish I were, though, because this is just painful! I don’t know the details yet, apparently there’s a press conference scheduled for June 5th where all of our questions will hopefully be answered.
So why do I think that this is painful? Well, because of the suspense, of course
I’m trying to look on the bright side, but I’m failing at it ATM… Are they going to have a group that mirrors AKB? I mean, Team S, Team K (repeated? Damn!), Team E? Seriously 48 more girls? Producing stages for 6 different Teams? I don’t know what to think of this yet… However, I am sure that Akimoto’s greed knows no boundaries! 96 girls???? This makes H!P look normal-sized! How do you manage to keep up with so many girls? You have to be insane in order to spend enough time to get to know 96 freaking girls! (and OMG it would take like all of my freaking life to screencap, research for info and profile all of them XD)
Ok, I’m jumping into conclusions here, but the brilliance of this idea leaves me in awe. Sakae is a geek district of Nagoya, like Akihabara is of Tokyo, apparently. There are geeks all around Japan, that is common knowledge, I mean, geeks are everywhere! So instead of trying to lure them into Tokyo to see AKB48, they can go to their local geek place and see XXX48! It’s a great plan, actually, because geeks will get hooked, that’s for sure, and more money will surely come to Akimoto’s bank accounts, but…
Will these alternative groups release mainstream singles? Will they ever get invited to Kouhaku? Will AKB48 tour with them? Surely, the chance of these other groups of succeeding even in the moderate way that AKB has is minimal, and my guess is that they will remain that, local groups, and that when Akimoto found out that AKB48 was becoming a bit too famous and “Idols that you can go and meet” was going to be hard to keep up with (I mean, try going and meeting the popular girls, like Acchan, Mai, Haruna… they are doing other activities all the time, and thus, don’t attend lots of shows), he decided that he’d probably be better off pimping AKB48 as the hybrid wota-mainstream group it has been all this time, and make other groups just for the purpose of milking wotas. If this is not what he thinks, then I really don’t understand how is ANYONE going to keep up with being a fan of a group with so many girls…
You know, people poke fun at how shady some of the business Akimoto does are (like that 55 poster thing) but I think I’ve never came to realize completely the fact that this guy means business. I mean, we all know that idol pop isn’t exactly about artistic freedom and great voices, but in my head this whole AKB48 expansion thing equals just one thing: $$$$$$
I hope that nothing of this is the truth. I’m all for supporting as many offsprings of the original as I can keep track of, but this also makes me a bit worried. I think that few of the original fans of AKB48 will be getting into the other groups all that much, if at all, but that in itself leaves me hanging there… I can’t go and watch AKB48, but I can’t really go and see any other group either! What are we, the fans from afar, going to do? This sounds more dramatic than I intended, but what I really mean is that… it will take too long to learn 48 more names… (and I’m not even talking about profiling them, although that IS my biggest concern right now XD)
No auditions have been announced yet, but the press conference might just have that purpose. Maybe they will just stick all of the research students in the first team? I hope that no girls get transfered to SKE (damn that thing can’t even be pronounced properly), like CIndy, Nacchan and Shiho were to Team B, because while I’m all for transferring between Teams of the same city, it would break my little wota heart to see some girls having to part with their AKB friends and embark into a completely different thing in Nagoya…
Well, whatever the outcome is, I hope that it includes more charismatic, fun, pretty girls, great songs, amazing choreogrphies (wait, are they going to drag Natsu-sensei all over the country to train the new girls?) The logistics of this project intrigu me the most, I must confess, but I will still support the “48″ franchise for as long as they can keep me entertained and make me a happier human being
Hi everybody! I’m back with the latest news about our favorite Akihabara girls, along with a big and juicy rumor, that is nothing more than a rumor for now *shrugs*
1. The place where you can find all of AKB48′s lyrics romanized, most of them translated and colorcoded too, the awesome AKB48 Lyrics Paradise, has a new layout and an improved lyrics viewing system that allows you to view kanji, romanized & color coded lyrics and the translation in the same page! This is a great system because it makes it simpler to know all you want about the song in just one click! Please do visit, it’s a great site and the wonderful haruna_hamasaki has put a lot of work into this, so go and find out at last what our little idols are singing!
2. Sato Amina was added to Team A. Well, this isn’t news, actually, but they announced this after the post I made about the Research Students who joined teams A and K so I thought I’d inform, in case somebody missed the news
Doesn’t she look a lot like Country Musume’s Miuna? I call her A-miuna in my head because I’m a dork XD Well, we’ve already had the chance to see her in action in H1, and she is a very good performer. Great dancer, always full of energy! The only thing that bothers me a bit is her voice. She stays on pitch and has a good beat, but the tone of her voice is a bit… squeaky, to say the least. However, she is very good at using her voice to its best, kind of like Kasai Tomomi and her anime moe~ voice, and she still manages to sound great with it! Amina still has to work a bit more to get to that level, but she’s on a great path already! She fits in Team A perfectly, and I’m actually a convert. I adore this girl, she’s so likable!
3. TEAM K 4th STAGE!!!!!!: God! I almost died in happiness when this news came out! The title of the stage is “Saishuu Beru ga Naru” which translates to “The last Bell Rings” Well, it’s a bit of a weird title, and I actually think that it sounds like a ballad title… Still, it’s Team K, so everything they do absolutely kicks ass! It starts on march 31st, and trust me, I will be here fangirling about the previes, reviews and everything else once we get them so stay tuned! I wish for lots of Yuko, lots of Umeda Ayaka, lots of Saeyaka, Kasai, Erena, Naruru, Mocchi… Oh well, you get the point! Team K is my favorite Team so I’m absolutely thrilled to see that this is finally happening!!!
4. AKB48 1000th performance!!! Well, this weekend was the 1000th time that AKB48 performed in the theater, as regular theater attender Tatami Mats informed us at S48, and other than the regular performance of A4, which was incredibly crowded, and featured all of the Team A original members (that is to say that Team B’s Hirajima and Urano as well as graduated members Orii, Hoshino, Kayano and Watanabe attended) Also, after the A4 performance ended, the original Skirt, Hirari unit performed, and then all of the original units from A1!! Apparently the fans were very supportive, and even in the cafe were shouting the mixes and cheering for the girls. So congratulations to them, and here’s hoping for 1000 more great shows!
5. AKB48 Cellphone release of new single: There’s going to be a new single released in June by AKB48, called “Baby Baby Baby”. This release is going to be cell phone exclusive, for Docomo users. I hope that it turns out to be like H!P’s Lalala blablabla song that got released as a single afterwards… Girls to be included are the following:
Team A -
Itano Tomomi, Oshima Mai, , Kawasaki Nozomi, Kojima Haruna, Sato Yukari, Shinoda Mariko, Takahashi Minami, Nakanishi Rina, Maeda Atsuko, Minegishi Minami: Hey, why stop there? Why leave Awesome Hana (TM) outside? I mean, Team A is everyone and their dog’s favorite, but this is ridiculous. I’m sure that some of the girls who appear in every freaking single could use some free time now and then… This is a cellphone release for the love of God! Not even then can they refrain from selecting lots and lots of Team A members… Oh well, thank God that Nozomi and Yukarin made it, because I effing love them more everyday and their gravure PBs and DVDs aren’t going to sell themselves, you know! That’s the reason why they were selected for this single, I believe, but I couldn’t care less. Also, I can’t deny my happiness for the Maimainess included in this. I approve.
Team K -
Akimoto Sayaka, Umeda Ayaka, Oshima Yuko, Ohori Megumi, Ono Erena, Kasai Tomomi, Miyazawa Sae: Well, Saeyaka + Yuko + Erena + Kasai is a given in almost every AKB48 release, but what totally made my day was the inclusion of poor neglected Umeda Ayaka who is in my top five of AKB48 members. Her voice is amazing, and she dances like there’s no tomorrow… Well, I’ll leave that for her profile, but you see, she was sadly absent during BOTH Himawarigumi stages, which caused me to weep in sorrow, but now that she’s back I’m absolutely thrilled to see her as part of a single. (I don’t care that this is a crappy cellphone release either. She rocks. Period.) Another interesting addition is that of Ohori Megumi, who has been increasing in popularity levels ever since 0ji59fun started featuring her as a regular. That girl is hilarious because of how she turns every little innocent thing into something sex related. This is her first single appearance, so I’m glad she made it!
Team B -
Kashiwagi Yuki, Kikuchi Ayaka, Watanabe Mayu: Mayu and Ayaka come as no surprise (Ok, I won’t lie, I still can’t see what’s so great about Ayaka but whatever…) and one of Team B’s best singers (also famous because she was one of the finalists for MM 8th gen Audition) Kashiwagi Yuki will also be part of this release. I’m glad to see 3 Team B girls, but come on! They should’ve been more B and less A girls IMO…
And here’s the craptastic cover (But it’s all redeemed because Mai appears in it)
Mai looks lovely, as usual. Acchan is totally rocking the long hair! I don’t like Haruna’s plain straight hairstyle. Mariko looks HOT! And Mayu… she… doesn’t look right at all…
WHERE THE HELL IS TEAM K IN THIS FREAKING COVER!!!! Go die on a stick Akimoto. Team K owns.
I won’t make ANY comments whatsoever about the hideous outfits. I think I’ll wait for the PV. Maybe they were just for the press conference? *crosses fingers*
6. Is avex interested in signing AKB48?: This is a mere rumor, but one that worries me a lot. Supposedly, avex was even looking into giving them a new theater, which would be one of the floors of their Shibuya building. Of course, signing with a big big name like avex means possibly more recognition, but then I sadly remember all of Girl’s Box, and how they were painfully neglected until they either disbanded (I’m still not over SweetS…) or went into indefinite hiatus. And it makes me really worried! Also, working for a big company would limit the creative freedom that Akimoto has over the group, and this could potentially ruin the whole “edgy” image that I like so much about AKB… Also, what’s the point of a group named “AKB48″ if they are not in Akihabara anymore? The geek appeal would be lost, but I think that’s a double edged sword actually, considering how DEVOTED their fans are, and how they would be probably ditched by mainstream audiences, like so many girl groups these days…
Actually, I’d rather see them stay how they are. I read somewhere that Noro Kayo has said in 2 different radio interviews that she’s already going to release a CD with avex, but knowing Nontii, it might very well be a prank of some kind and not necessarily a true fact. If they do go into avex, then I seriously hope that they aren’t treated like all of avex’s girl groups have. That would be very unfair for this group of girls who have worked really hard to get where they are!
Ok, that is all! See you next time!
Well, people, sorry for disappearing from the face of the Earth like that, but RL hasn’t been exactly nice lately… still, this is a long weekend and I have tons of ideas in my head, so hopefully I’ll be able to work on them this weekend
Ok, everybody, one model deserves another, so here’s Nozofisu’s crime in partner, Yukarin!!! Yay! *clap clap clap*
- Name: Sato Yukari (佐藤由加理)
- Nickname: Yukarin (ゆかりん)
- Birthdate: November 22nd, 1988
- Birthplace: Shizuoka, Japan
- Hobbies: Sleeping
- Audition song: Hirosue Ryoko – Maji de Koi Suru 5byou Mae
- Height: 161cm
- Bust: 77cm
- Waist: 59cm
- Hips: 83cm
- Agency: Artist House Pyramid
Well, Yukarin is a lovely girl indeed. And not only is she very pretty, but she’s always so freaking HAPPY to be in a unit, or in a song, or in a stage, that it seriously makes me happy to see her in turn. Sadly, she didn’t get much of a chance to shine until Himawarigumi where she totally rocked every song!!! See, I didn’t really notice her all that much, with her being stuck as backup all the time, but after I watched H1, I decided I should go back and try to see what she really was like on stage before. She has definitely improved a lot ever since the beginning, which is something I LOVE in an idol, they must be capable of evolving in time, you know, and Yukarin has proven that she is no longer that stiff dancer and nervous singer she was in A1, no, she’s confident, and shining and happy to be on stage!
That said, her voice is good, but it doesn’t really have anything distinctive about it… but well, she is a nice singer, gets her notes and beat right and stuff. She’s improved in the dancing department lots since her debut too, and even though she’s no Minegishi, she always manages to catch my eye because of how much she seems to be enjoying herself in every performance!
Plus, if none of this meant anything to you, she kind of resembles Sugaya Risako, I think it’s the smile…
1. Sakura no Hanabiratachi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6XHLUwJMek Poor Yukarin got virtually no screen time at all in this PV! However, she wears a Che Guevara T shirt, which totally cracked me up
Here it is, and just when you thought that idols where silly pretty creatures who never ventured into politics…
She looks very focused in this rehearsal, trying to get the moves right, I guess. Still, it sucks that she got so little screentime… Even the girls who are now graduated got more shots than she did… Oh well, I guess that after all, she’s survived to all of these (2) years of being pushed to the background, and it finally paid off! Now she’s the gravure model and the other girls are… not? Well, I guess it depends in whether you see gravure as a promotion or a demotion, but one thing is for sure, at least she stole Kojima Haruna’s dream right under her nose
Oh hi, Risako, I didn’t know that you had lost 10 pounds, cut your hair and joined AKB48! Way to go! Wait…
2. Skirt Hirari: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zc5mKEgl9kY If Nozofisu was hard to spot in Skirt, Hirari, Yukarin is virtually invisible…
This is the only (rather crappy) screencap I managed to find of Yukari in this PV. She’s the one at the far left side of the pic, BTW. Yes, I know that there was supposed to be a pic of her in the ugly gray uniform when they flash all of the other girl’s pictures, but I seem to have missed hers. I’m not going back to bust my finger trying to stop the PV at every split second either, but rejoice! There are plenty of Stage caps coming ahead
6. BINGO! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzp6tTAYoF0 It was great to see Yukarin’s usually happy self in this PV, even if it was for only one frame
I’ve said over and over again that Yukari is a happy girl, but she’s not over-the-top genki hyper sugary happy, but like normal-person type of happy, which is more endearing and believable to me. I love this picture of the underdogs, Yukari, Shiho, Hitomi and Risa look positively lovely!
9. Romance Irane http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7HAsjhTfh4 I was beaming with happiness when I heard that Yukari, Kikuchi, and OMG so awesome Hana were picked for this single! And then I watched the PV… and I became a little less excited, to put it lightly. My screencaps of this really suck, but Yukarin was fierce here!
Being paired with Team A’s cool girl, Mariko-sama, some girls get totally outshined, but not Yukarin, she held her own! You can tell that she’s really into singing!
The very famous chest thrusting step, and you can obviously tell that Yukari is working it there!!! She even has a smug face that I love, it’s like she’s saying “Oh yeah, Haruna, you go and get all of the close ups of this PV, I’m going to be a gravure model while you stare in awe instead Mwahahahahahahahaha!!”
Well, that is all for Yukari’s PV appearances, however, we still have plenty of Stage performances to dwell into! Yay!
1. A1 – Party ga Hajimaru yo: Yukari was a pretty stiff performer back in the day A1 was filmed, she was still her usual happy self, though, and it’s adorable to watch her in all of her rookie awkwardness, especially knowing that she’s grown out of it completely now.
I like that hairstyle on her, it’s simple, but fits her very well. She has become increasingly beautiful as time goes by, too. Good for her (and for us too, of course )
That blur next to her is no other than BFF Kawasaki Nozomi. Sorry about the bad screencap
2. A1 – Dear my Teacher
Let’s face it, with such a naughty type of song, and such an awkward little idol, it was a bit of a hit-and-miss situation. Still, Yukarin managed to get the feel of the song right and loosen up at times, and those times are the ones that proved what a good performer she would become in the future.
She just seems to be trying too hard sometimes, but that’s good. I’d rather see my idols make a fool of themselves because they are trying to achieve some kind of particular look or feel for a song, than see them all dead on stage
3. A1 – Classmate
I love Classmate, it’s such a beautiful old school song! And it’s very fitting for a gentle girl like Yukari, even though she was probably the worst dancer of this unit, that fact didn’t stop her from giving it her all!
She was seriosuly awkward, or nervous, or both. But this only made my desire to go and give her a bear hug even bigger!
You can see the other girls smiling, and making little sweet expressions, but not Yukarin. She was way too focused in getting her lines right, so she kind of forgot about the rest. But that’s cute to see anyway, and if anything, it has more merit to grow into a confident solid performer from scratch than to be born a star, right?
A2 – Namida no Shounan: A2 was the stage where Yukarin really loosened up and starting having fun through the WHOLE thing. I absolutely, endlessly and forever adore her in Namida no Shounan, she was simply perfect in there. Easily my favorite Yukarin moment, so I’ll share plenty of screencaps with all of you
“Chu chu chu chu chu chu chu” Well, I must say that when I finally turned to the dark side of AKB, I didn’t really watch the stages in order. I watched A4 first, and I was completely won over, so then I started hunting for the rest. I had heard a lot of this song, especially among fellow Maimai fans, because she is the lead in this unit, so that was admittedly, the only reason why I was looking forward to watching it. And then a few unexpected things happened: “Wow! Is that graduated member Orii Ayumi? She kicked so much butt!” “Is that Mariko? OMG! She’s totally hot!” “Haruna is definitely one of the best looking girls I’ve seen!” and most particularly, “Is that the girl from Kikyou? I must learn her name right now! She’s beyond amazing!”
Yukari was not only happy here, she got the broken-hearted tease sort of mood of the song perfectly, and she seemed to be in her element through the whole thing, I was pretty shocked, in a good way, of course, because I had seen her before but never really noticed how good she was, because she was barely ever given a chance…
You know, one of the things I like the most about AKB48 is how they give every girl a chance. I mean, sure, it’s Acchan, Takamina, Yuko all over the place if you take the singles into account, but then you watch the stages, and see units with the less popular girls, and they are given lines and limelight and stuff! Having ben a H!P fan for so long, I was used to the fact that if I didn’t see a girl in a single, chances were that I wouldn’t be seeing a lot of her anyway in concerts. And then I found out that this group works in a very different way. Say what you may about Akimoto, but he doesn’t forget something that often slips Tsunku’s mind: Each of these girls has a dedicated fanbase, and they will obviously pay more attention to the whole group if the girl they like isn’t thrown into the background every single time…
Sexy Yukarin! People were wondering whether she could do gravure or not, but I think that those of us who believed that it didn’t really fit her, have been shut up already! She is definitely gorgeus.
I love this screencap, that pose makes her look like one of those idols from the 80′s in their poofy skirts and extra-charming personaes… It makes me happy to see an idol work her best and truly shine, and especially if she hadn’t been given a chance to prove her worth before!
A2 – JESUS: You know, I love Jesus, but this song is so… wrong XD I still have a kick out of listening to it everytime though…
“ARE YOU READY TO ROCK AND ROLL?!?!” XD I kind of get that vibe from this very red and angry looking screencap…
I love her self sufficient look. “Yeah, that’s right! I’m in the center biotches, whatcha gonna do about it?”
A2 – Dakedo…
In A2 Yukarin has set to prove all of us that she hasn’t only improved her dancing skills, her sexiness, and her badass-ness, she has also GREATLY improved her ballad-singing abilities. She now gives a heartfelt performance, and can focus on the small details instead of being glued to her spot trying to keep track of the beats of the song.
Maybe the Risako resemblance isn’t just the smile… but a bit of the “spoiled child” vibe as well.
A2 – Dear my Teacher:
Now she’s fully commited, and instead of getting it right a few times, she captures the mood of this song in a whim and conveys it in a very nice way
A2 – Mirai no Tobira:
I’ll be honest with you fellows, I don’t even remember what this song sounds like… But some little voice in the back of my head tells me that it’s a song about happiness and the bright future and other typical idol fare, and by Yukarin’s touching expression we can tell that she is really meaning all that she’s singing to all of us
Quite an odd but still cute pair, Miichan and Yukarin make a heart sign and smile cutely at each other
See, I told you that she’s a very happy girl (kind of an airhead too), she even looks happier than Miichan here! Who would ever thought that possible?
A2 – Skirt Hirari
“Damn you Akimoto, you could’ve had me in the PV, I’m pretty hot myself, you know?”
A3 – Tanjoubi no Yoru: My favorite birthday song! This song is so catchy and awesome!
That’s a funny face there, but still, pretty freaking adorable.
A3 – Rider
This shade of bright orange is not a very nice color, but Yukarin rocks it anyway!
Rider is a beautiful uplifting song, and after you understand the background behind it, it becomes all the more special. I like how all of the girls really performed at her best in order to send this message of love to an old fan who has passed away…
A4 – Only Today:
Michiru and Yukari squinting identical smiles! I SO love this costume… this was the only reason to post this ugly screencap, actually
Well, what do you know… The happy girls teamed up again (if only for one line)
A4 – Kikyou
The first time I watched Kikyou, I thought this: “Oh, that girl in the dark overall looks really happy! How cute!” and then “wait a second… why doesn’t she have a single freaking SOLO line!!!!” *sigh*
I was kind of pissed off at the fact that she didn’t get any lines even though she put all of her little idol heart into the performance, but it still impressed me how much of a good sport she was about it, not even once did she look bored, or anything like that. She was completely cheerful and commited from the beginning to the end.
*melts* So effing cute! <3
“*sigh* I can always hope for a line in the next unit I’m placed in…”
I mean, how can you not love her when she looks like this when she sings? She is REALLY into the music, and you can tell by just looking at her
I was going to post some of her gravure pictures, but the pic uploader still hates me Oh, well, there’s plenty of pics in this post anyway…
Like what you see? Then don’t forget to buy her first gravure solo DVD! Which comes out in July! Yay!!
Hello there, people! I plan on keeping annoying you all until you go and buy H1, but right now I really want to get through with the profiles of the rest of Team A, because like I’ve said 10000 times before, some of these girls are my favorites.
- Name: Kawasaki Nozomi (川崎希)
- Nickname: Nozofisu (ノゾフィス)
- Birthdate: August 23rd, 1987
- Birthplace: Tokyo, Japan
- Hobbies: Speaking Spanish
- Audition song: Kawashima Ai – 12ko no Kisetsu
- Height: 156cm
- Bust: 82cm
- Waist: 59cm
- Hips: 83cm
I’m crazy about Nozofisu, for reasons that I find difficult to pinpoint, but I’ll try to do my best at it anyway… She was one of the first girls who caught my eye because she is incredibly beautiful! And I don’t mean pretty-beautiful like Maimai, or cute-beautiful like Miichan, Nozomi is what people would call a classic beauty, she’s kind of quiet and demure, very ladylike, and that added to her look makes her a very special type of idol, I mean, I would love to be like that, but sadly, I’m more of a tomboy than anything else XD
Anyway, I really like Nozofisu’s voice, although I will admit she isn’t the strongest singer of the group. Her voice is just what you would expect from her, very sweet, and not cute at all, but soft and “classy” if you could say that about a voice… She is an average dancer, but whenever she is into a performance she REALLY is into it, and she gives her all, in her usual style. Also, this is a bit personal, and stupid, but she can speak spanish!!! That’s super cool, and adds 1000+ points of sexy to her.
1. Sakura no Hanabiratachi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6XHLUwJMek Well, Nozomi isn’t all that prominent in this PV, which is a shame, because she’s a cutie! However, there’s one shot of her that made me go ga-ga at how beautiful this girl is!
Wow! I mean, wow! There was this PV, with a bunch of hyper and cute girls, in their typical idol poses and stuff… and then this frame comes out of nowhere and wow! Nozomi is absolutely beautiful, right? And it’s such a refreshing sight after all of the typical idol stuff of the backstage parts of this PV
And then she sort of looks our way… *swoons* See, the thing about being a Nozofisu fan is that it’s a bit of an art, a certain finesse is required to rejoice in her beauty and the little variations of it, and the defined style that is so typical of her. She is a true lady, and is subtle and delicate like one should be, which in turn results as not so entertaining for the people who come to idol world looking for hyper – sugary – sweet idol personaes, winks and jumps.
Here we see Nozofisu in action next to Komatani Hitomi, she seems to be having some fun with that choreography! I remember a shot of the Making Of AKB48′s spring tour of 2007 where they showed the girls in rehearsal and Nozofisu’s shirt said “I see that you’ve met the twins” That cracked me up, it seemed pretty out of character, but the good thing about Nozomi is that she’s a good girl with a twist, but I’ll get into that later.
Yeah, I know that she’s kind of blurry and in the background, but still. Here’s graduated member Usami Yuki, and Nozomi in what appears to be a recording studio. Nozofisu looks very focused, and I’m surprised that even though both members have never been the most popular girls, Usami gets to be in the front… I mean, in the rest of the studio pics of the other girls, they seem to share the screen evenly, but this just seems foul… of course, when you decide to become a fan of one of the underappreciated girls, you have to deal with this kind of thing.
The thing that bothers me, though, is that even though some of the other girls who were largely unnoticed by team A (Nacchan, Shiho, Cindy) were more TEam B material anyway, and rocked/are rocking there, Nozofisu is SO Team A, and they don’t even notice it! I’m glad that she’s a model now, and hopefully that will give her more exposure. I think she’s becoming bigger everytime, and being the Team 2 sub for Yuko was a BIG break for her and one of the reasons why I enjoyed Team 2 so much in the DVD
Aww… don’t cry! See, the other girls are all envious now because you get the cute clothes and the best photoshoots, so you ended up winning in the long run!
2. Skirt Hirari: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zc5mKEgl9kY Well… spotting Nozofisu in this pV is like playing “Find Waldo” but I still managed to find a decent shot of her… With such a minor performance, I can’t really say much about her job here
She’s the second to last girl here, the one with straight long hair. She looks bored… But I would too if I knew that I would only be getting a split second of a shot in the whole thing!
She even seems sort of pissed off in her shot, but then again I don’t blame her. It must suck to be stuck in the background all the time, and while we get to listen to all the glory of the front girls, as they get TV appearances, interviews, PV close ups and such, the less known girls remain a mystery for most of us. And it’s not really strange to see that happening, you’re most likely to be drawn to that girl who gets the camera stuck on her face thorugh all of the performance, or that which is so hyper that she lights up the stage. But then is it wrong to be a background girl? Does this mean that they are less good at what they do? A quick answer to that question would be a “Yes, being an idol is about entertaining” but it’s also abou so much more… I would have Nozomi over Acchan any day, and that’s not out of hate for Maeda, but just to show that even though the girl can’t really sing or dance all that well and has 0 stage presence, the camera is all over her, and she has without a doubt gotten the biggest push. Is she worth MY time? No, I look for some sort of special something in my idols… which is why I might be more drawn to those who are quirky or overlooked for some reason. I just like to dig deeper I guess…
3. Aitakatta http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwFvpkiNOVU Er… wiki lists her as part of this PV’s cast, but I couldn’t spot her even once! I’m inclined to believe that she wasn’t in it, though, because all of the girls who did got a small part and where relatively easy to spot…
6. BINGO! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzp6tTAYoF0 Oddly enough, even though the over-the-top happiness of BINGO doesn’t really fit Nozofisu’s character all that well, I found a lovely shot of her in the PV!
Nozofisu’s mugshot, no less! Instead of looking badass she looks HOT! Still, awesome to see her appear in a PV, regardless of what small role she might get in there…
Here even matsubara Natsumi is cracking up, with Tomochin and her characteristic hyperness, and yet Nozomi simply waves and smiles shyly… That endears me to no end, but, like I said before, it’s not meant to be liked by everyone. I guess we all have our own kind of idol, like an “ideal type” and we’ll always like that type better than the others, which is perfectly acceptable
Well, that is all for Nozomi’s PV appearances Luckily, we have stage performances!!
Party ga Hajimaru yo – A1: Strangely enough, Nozomi is all smiles and happy-genki-power in this… it’s an interesting change of pace, but I’d rather see her stick to her own self
Yay w00t! *waves* Ahh… it’s always better to see a smile than anything else, especially if it comes from Nozofisu! She looks even prettier now, but this is nice for old memories sake
Doku Ringo wo Tabesasete – A1: A song meant to be all sexy and stuff, that IMO fails at it and ends up just sounding plain weird. Still, it was nice to see the girls attempts at being HOTT
Funny how she’s the only one who noticed where the camera is… she looks a bit awkard in this, but you can tell that she’s still enjoying it (when she isn’t it REALLY shows, which cracks me up)
Zombie Nozofisu FTW!
I’ll admit that she was much more of a typical idol at the beginning, but now she’s polished her act more in order to offer something unique. It’s still great to see her smile and have fun, and I can’t deny that the “fun” factor really comes into play when people decide to like an idol or not, because there’s a reason why we aren’t listening to Evanescence, but we’re watching little japanese girls jump around and be silly, it makes us sick people happy!
Hoshi no Ondo – A1: I’m sadly not a big fan of this super slow song, but it does fit Nozomi’s character very well. She manages to look very elegant in that dress, unlike some of her team mates XD
Even though ballads are great for her quiet character, I love it when she gets to do stuff that is a bit more “edgy”, she can do that as well, surprisingly, without getting out of character or anything
AKB48 – A1: This song is all about the fun that is AKB48, and I think the girls like singing it quite a bit, they must be glad to be a part of it!
There’s something adorable about seeing the girls so young, sort of inexperienced in the Idol business and without make up and stuff, especially when it’s in retrospective, because then we can see how much they have evolved through their time in the industry…
Koi no Plan – A2: Oh! I love this song so much! It’s a bubbly song, but nothing too hyper. Even though most of the underrated girls where stashed here, it sounds amazing! And they all look so cute in those dresses!
This cute choreography was a bit more laid back than I originally thought it would be judging from the song’s music, but it’s great for the gentle girls included here, Nozomi, Hitomi and Michiru in particular
Her soft voice balances Haruna’s powerful vocals, and she’s a great match for Oh yay’s beautiful smooth voice as well. I liked how this song sounded very much.
Rio no Kakumei – A2: I’m a fan of carnivals, the people stop being individuals and sort of come together in this amazing mob of dancing and singing energy! That stated, I must add that I think a song about the carnival of Rio was an awesome idea, and while this particular one doesn’t really sound brazilian at all, it includes my favorite Nozofisu moment ever!
The energetic dance and music builds and then it comes to a stop… and Nozofisu appears surrounded by blue lights, and has a speaking part XD The great thing about it is both the fact that it includes english and spanish, and that it’s great to see the underdogs get big parts! The way she slowly speaks, with her soft voice, is very sultry and it gives the sexy vibe to this song, without a doubt!
Dakedo… – A2: Here’s another sweet touching ballad, a classic fan favorite
I like how she seems to be singing her heart out in this screencap, because she’s rarely this passionate about her singing, so it’s nice to see her show how much it really gets to her
Rider – A3: This song holds a special meaning because it was written for one of AKB48′s early fans, who tragically died in an accident. It’s very sweet and heartwarming, and also, on a shallow note, the outfits were great!
Nozofisu, looking beautiful in yellow! Those earrings are SO much win!
Same as Koi no Plan, this sweet number is very fitting for the characters of the “background girls” and they all perform their best in it, this is one performance that always manages to bring a smile to my face
Koike – A3: Ahhh the angry break up song! Cool!
That wavy hair is a much better look for her than the straight one! She’s sexy in Koike, both in the sateg performance and in the concert version! This is where we begin to see how much of a sexy girl Nozomi really is, so it isn’t all about being a demure lady, there’s an edge to her!
Only Today – A4: I like how on first look this happy song seems about something completely different than what it really is about
God, my A4 screencaps are hideous, but this is enough to show how she finally settled for what type of character she wants to be, there’s no need to be all hyper and sugary, it’s fine to be however you want to be as long as you do a great job at it!
Faint – A4: People really noticed Nozofisu after Faint. This is a great song, but what’s even greater is its sexy choreography and honest lyrics. All of the girls did great in this, but the fact that “lady” Nozomi was so good at this really made a few jaws drop. I think it was a good way to show people that she could do more than ballads, and I daresay that she’s even better at sexy than at ballads!
Mwahahaha! Just wait bitches, I’ll show you all what I’m really capable of!
The very classy “boobie grabbing” step… always a winner! And that belly button piercing is HOTT
Work it girl!
I already said that something I like very much about this song are its honest lyrics, but they wouldn’t be as meaningful if they weren’t delivered from the heart, like the girls do here!
Yeah, that’s a bad time to blink, Tomochin… but the other two girls looks stunning! Nozomi is SUPER sexy, as you can see here!
Well, that is all for now, please support Nozomi, she’s a very good idol in her own way! And her hobbie is collecting Paris Hilton pictures which cracks me up as well XD So, if you don’t do it for her, do it for Paris, we all know that she needs more love! (XD XD XD No sex tape pun intended)
Hello people! Welcome to the profile of the super awesome Team 2! Like I said before, these were the girls who replaced the Team 1 girls whenever they were absent for a show. I really like this Team, and I’m looking forward to the second Himawarigumi DVD in order to see more of them in action, since they get neglected quite a bit in their stage DVDs, and of course, in the singles.
Ohe Tomomi – Team A (gets Takahashi Minami’s lines): Oh yay! I love Ohyay to death. She’s very awkward and quirky and just downright weird, but that only adds to her charm! That said, Ohe is one of the best vocalists from team A, and I lvoe how whenever she sings it’s like she isn’t really singing… I mean, like she almost doesn’t move her lips or something, that’s very cute! I was super happy to notice that she got a BIG part (takamina’s lines, no less) and she makes the most of it, especially during Higurashi no Koi, I mean, WOW, she’s stunning in that song!
Highlights: Dreamin’ Girls, RUN RUN RUN, Higurashi no Koi, Takeuchi Senpai, Deja vu, Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka
Ohori Megumi – Team K (gets Shinoda Mariko’s lines): Ohori cracks me up… she could sex up Honehone Walts or something… She’s the Hentai character of AKB, beign the oldest and an ex-gravure model. Still, I like Ohori because she is so overly sexual that it makes me giggle like an idiot, and because all in all she’s 100% commited to her job. However, there is a serious lack of Ohori in H1, which made me a bit sad. Especially in Lay Down!, which should’ve been her song through and through…
Highlights: Himawari, Sonna Konna wake de
Oku Manami – Team K (gets Ono Erena’s lines): Manami is the halfie of AKB48, as well as the youngest member. See, I want to love her, I do like her a bit, but I want to LOVE LOVE LOVE her, and then I can’t. See, she doesn’t really smile a lot in performances, which saddens me, because that is SUCH a big part of being an idol… Still, she does smile in H1, and loooks like she’s thoroughly enjoying it, which makes me happy in turn I hate that hairstyle though, she has gorgeous long wavy hair, so why do they have to tie it up in such a weird way that she looks like she’s balding on the sides? Geez…
Highlights: IDOL Nante Yobanaide, Takeuchi Senpai, BINGO!
Kawasaki Nozomi – Team A (gets Oshima Yuko’s lines): I LOVE Nozofisu! So I was completely thrilled and almost died out of happiness to see her get such a big role as Yuko’s! She does justice to it, in her own style of course! Her voice is very beautiful and soft, so it gives a different twist to Boku to Juliet to Jet Coaster, but it’s still awesome to hear it.
Highlights: Everything! Ok, I’m biased, but Nozofisu is really good and consistent through the whole thing! Except for Mirai no Kajitsu, she seems to be as tired of that song as I am XD
Kuramochi Asuka – SEED (now in Team K – gets Oshima Mai’s lines): Well, Mocchi… I had just seen pictures, and thought that she’s really gorgeus! But I was really impressed with her powerful voice and also by the fact that she really seems to sing with all of her heart. It’s not the same in-your-face attitude that Naruru has, but more like… I don’t know how else to explain it, just like she was really feeling what she’s singing,
Highlights: Himawari, Deja Vu, Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka
Tojima Hana – Team A (gets Itano Tomomi’s lines): Hana is my second favorite Team A member, so of course I was looking forward to see her lead Itoshisa no Defense! And then… my jaw dropped. Hana doesn’t only own Itoshisa, she owns the whole stage! In a similar fashion to that of Miyazawa Sae, coupled with Masuda Yuka stage presence and Miichan dancing skills. I don’t know if you get the picture or not, but Hana is the best thing that ever happened to H1. She totally pwns both teams, and it isn’t just my bias talking, you know, she’s just incredible, I don’t even know what else to say… I’m at loss for words.
Highlights: EVERY FREAKING SONG! Since Dreamin’g Girls all the way through Boku no taiyou, she remains consistent, her dancing is Oh my God… and her facial expressions! She’s SO into this songs! She even blogged about how she wanted to perform H1 again, I’m with you Hana, please do, perform it again!!!
Deguchi Aki – SEED (gets Masuda Yuka’s lines): I heard a lot about Aki because she unexpectedly graduated AKB in November, and fans were very sad with this news, they said that she was a great SEED… Now, don’t take this the wrong way, but seeing my little experience with AKB seeds, I figured that they might be like H!P Eggs, which means that you have to be a hardore fan in order to dig up some info on these girls, and I couldn’t be bothered to do this, so I kind of forgot about her. And then I watched Team 2, and found out 2 things: 1. The SEEDS get a LOT more of screentime and chances to shine than H!P Eggs (And are way awesome) 2. Letting go of Deguchi Aki was indeed a horrible mistake, and people were even speculating that she might have taken part in a boyfriend scandal or something along those lines. She got a big break in H1, because she got Yuka’s big part (a duet), and she’s really good at it! I was blown away! Other than that though, she’s not as noticeable as Yuka is, but there’s nothing to blame there, because Yuka’s stage presence can’t be rivaled by anyone else in AKB.
Highlights: Oh, please check her out in Higurashi no Koi. She’s hot in Sonna Konna and gets tons of screen time in Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka and Lay Down!
Sato Yukari – Team A (gets Nakanishi Rina’s lines): I’ve said various things about Yukarin in the past that might have sounded a bit not-so-nice, like she doesn’t really stand out much because she’s not given any chances and stuff along thoso lines. And this DVD is the proof of that particular fact. Yukarin PWNS this stage hard, she’s totally confident, has a lot of energy and her vocals are very solid throughout the whole thing. Also, even though Rina was a badass and a pleasure to look at in this stage, Yukarin seems to appear a lot more than Rina did, go girl!
Highlights: She’s awesome through the whole thing, really, starting from Dreamin’ girls, being all jumpy and energetic during Mirai no Kajitsu, rocking Boku to Juliet to Jet Coaster, Takeuchi Senpai, Sonna Konna and Deja vu (Sexy! And to think that some people weren’t really into the idea of her doing gravure! Ha! She shut all of the haters up! I’m glad )
Sato Amina – SEED (now in Team A / gets Kojima Haruna’s lines): Amina reminds me of Kusumi Koharu in various points, the first one being the fact that she’s super cute but can’t really portray a different character than that, and the second one is that people will either absolutely LOVE Amina or hate her to death, just like with Koha. To be honest, I have heard so much bashing about her vocals, that I figured she must be impossible to listen to or something, and I wasn’t really looking forward to see her. I had no idea of who she was, but after I finished watching the performances, I found out that she was the pig tailed girl in Boku to Juliet to Jet Coaster (my favorite unit) and I sighed in relief. I’ve become an Amina fan, quite frankly, and while she’s no Takamina when it comes to vocals, she’s got her own special thing going on, and I admire and respect that. Oh, and her voice is really not that bad, she’s all high pitched, but she has good control, so I don’t care, she sounds good enough.
Highlights: Anything cute will surely work for Amina, she’s like an anime character somehow, unbelievably cute, that kid is. RUN RUN RUN, Mirai no Kajitsu, Viva! Hurricane are good to display both her cute character and her dancing skills. She was good in Boku to Juliet to Jet Coaster, I was glad to see that. And of course, Yuuhi and BINGO.
Komatani Hitomi – Team A (gets Sato Natsuki’s lines): Hii-pink is a bit of a mystery to me, even after all these years of fandom (:D) I maintain that the girl is freaking gorgeus, and has great vocals, but there is something very subtle about the way in which Hitomi performs, that I can’t quite put into words. It’s not that she doesn’t have a big range of expressions, it’s more like she has her own style and her own take on things, in case that made any sense…
Highlights: Mirai no kajitsu, Itoshisa no Defense (she’s really hot in that one), Sonna Konna.
Kobayashi Kana – Team K (gets Kasai Tomomi’s lines): Kanaaaaaa! I really like Kana, but I don’t exactly know why is that XD She has the same “fallen from grace” vibe that Risa has, since she was much more featured in the past than she is now, but I can’t really tell why has this happened to her… Anyway, Kana is adorable, she’s got the sweetest smile ever and is very likable. I definitely noticed her a lot in this stage, because she got Kasai’s lines, which were all over the place! Still, I would’ve rather seen her swith places with Amina, and had her in boku to Juliet…
Highlights: RUN RUN RUN, Mirai no Kajitsu, IDOL nante Yobanaide, Sonna Konna, Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka
Narita Risa – Team A (gets Maeda Atsuko’s lines): Risa is full of smiles in this stage (well, she always is) And it’s like she’s determined to prove that she’s super idol material! She’s also very prominently featured here, and she’s more noticeable than Acchan is in Team 1, probably due to tha fact that Risa tries to appeal in every song, and is just awesome in general. I have to say that she really took advantage of her position in IDOL nante yobanaide, and pwned everybody’s face in it.
Highlights: Dreamin’ Girls, RUN RUN RUN, IDOL nante yobanaide. Those especially, but she’s really worth watching in every performance (particularly Sonna Konna and Deja vu bcause she’s HOTT in that dress!)
Naruse Risa – SEED (now in team K / gets Akimoto Sayaka’s lines): When I realized that a SEED this cute looking was going to get Sayaka’s lines I wasn’t particularly thrilled, but the great thing about Naruru is that she gets you thinking that she’s all cute and bubbly and then there’s so much more about her! She’s probably the most commited performer out of the seeds, and you can tell that she gives her all in every performance. I said before that people were unsure of whether she would fit within the “cool” Team K being so cute, but I’m sure that she’ll do great! She’s a very very strong performer, and I’m really happy to see that she made it to my favorite Team!
Highlights: Viva! Hurricane, Himawari, Lay Down!
Hayano Kaoru – Team K (gets Minegishi Minami’s lines): Whoa! Kaorin has become so beautiful! She used to be a little awkward chubby kid, and now she looks very very pretty! Well, good for her. Kaoru is, like Yukari, a member that I felt unimpressed about, but I was sure that such a feeling was simply because of the lack of opportunities given to the girl. I think I was right about Kaorin, she’s very good! And I’m glad that she finally got some exposure, because she very much deserves it!
Highlights: Viva! Hurricane, IDOL Nante Yobanaide, Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka
Masuyama Kayano – Team A (graduated – gets Miyazawa Sae’s lines): I have mixed feelings about Kaya’s appearance in H1… for one part, I’m happy that I get to see her one last time, because she’s truly something awesome to watch on stage, but it also makes me sore to see how awesome she is and now she’s gone… Sure, she was probably fed up with how little attention everyone payed to her in Team A, and it makes me sad… Talk about some great talent that was underated all the while. Still, I don’t really understand why was she given Sae’s lines… that’s a bit of a sin XD I mean, Sae had very sexy lines in this (most notably in Lay Down…) and she was in Itoshisa no Defense… I’m all for idols veing versatile and stuff, but when you’re like 13 I don’t want to watch you singing “IS it this kind of body that you want?” or something like that… It gets kind of creepy…
Highlights: Dreamin’ Girls, Itoshisa no Defense, Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka, Deja Vu
Matsubara Natsumi – Team K (gets Noro Kayo’s lines): Nattsumii… well, she didn’t really do it for me, but now after watching her get a semi big role in this stage I think that she’s a similar case to that of Komatani Hitomi, which means that she has a very particular style, and works a good range of expressions from there. She’s endearing somehow, without being super cute or anything. I don’t really know how to describe it but it’s like she’s a very gentle girl, the typical girl next door, that type of cuteness is what I’m taling about. Ok, I didn’t know if I made sense at all.
Highlights: Himawari, Sonna Konna, Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka, Lay Down!
Ok, well, there’s Team 2 in all of its glory ladies and gents! These girls are amazing, and I’m still ecstatic that they got a stage of their own to prove what they are capable of, they truly outshine Team 1 in a fair number of songs, so here’s hoping that all of them get bigger roles in both Team stages and singles.
That is all!
