Meetan IS one of the most important members of Team K, I aknowledge this fact and I support her 100% in anything she wants to do, butI do think that there’s a gimmick behind all of this. For starters, we all know for a fact that she was an idol before joining AKB48. She held small concerts and had gravure PBs and DVDs. So what they show on the video, that her first contact with showbusiness was through AKB48, is not really true. This doesn’t mean that I think Meetan made it up or whatever, but it means that if her management company will consider that having her appear like a pitiful girl who nobody cared about will increase the sales, they will go with that image.

I don’t think that Meetan is pitiful at all. She’s in control of her whole career and has succesfully built an idol persona that sets her apart from her Teammates, this is priceless and very difficult in an industry as limited as idol business is. She also happens to have a lot of fans, yeah, she’s no Acchan, but she’s no underdog either, regardless of her position in singles, she’s always been an important member, so I do feel like they were exaggerating a bit and making the whole situation seem a lot more dramatic than it actually is.

The fact that a member doesn’t get chosen for singles doesn’t define their pecking order in AKB. Take Masuda Yuka, for example. She hasn’t been in a single since BINGO!, yet she’s hands down one of the most important Team K members. And then the whole Team B serves as an example, since the only one featured constantly in singles is Mayu, and this doesn’t make other important members any less important (like CinDy or Nacchan, to name just two)

Ok, this is getting WAY too long, but my point is that I’m on Meetan’s side, so I felt like I should explain myself better because apparently you understood that I was dissing her. I’m not, I don’t think that any of the exaggerations that happened in the VTR of 0ji59fun are Meetan’s fault, nor do I believe that they take away from her hard work and top idol status.

And finally, of course the other members love her, she’s hilarious! If they didn’t care about her she wouldn’t post pics with different girls everyday.

p.s :when she is gonna debut with a cds and thus kick out of the group due to some ‘dumb’ conditions set by akimoto, most of the members are in tears as she is one of the most important members in akb48.
