[Blogs] True Life Seek on bad parenting, a psychotic girl and a Yamapi doll

ikimono gakari - Little Psycho Girls Talking To Dolls

And I thought the PV for Ikimono gakari’s Planetarium was boring! In this post, broomhead sounds like a cynical old guy who doesn’t believe in fairytales anymore.

Or maybe he’s just more sane than I am.

Watch out for stalkers, stars and drugs. This PV is the Hollywood life baby!

[Blogs] Radiant Dawn with loads of female vocalists.

Genki Rockets I -Heavenly Star- - Genki Rockets
ONE - Crystal Kay
Voice - Eri Nobuchika
Kaze no Tegami - alan
SOME BOYS! TOUCH - Maki Goto
Yami no Kuni no Alice / Hamon - D
Sketch for Summer - Eri Nobuchika
CROSS SEASON - Nami Tamaki
Sing to the Sky - ayaka
Secret - Maki Goto
PRECIOUS - MEG

Well not all of them are female vocalists. One of them is just a group that looks like female vocalists. I’ll leave you to find out for yourself which one it is.

Ethan doesn’t find any of the releases particularly bad, so most of the stuff on this list are worth trying out if you have the time.

[Blogs] Vitamin Drop with a TON of reviews

Tegami ~Haikei Juugo no Kimi e~ [Angela Aki - 8th Single]
MAGIC [MEG - 11th Single]
can’t stop the DISCO [Ami Suzuki - 30th Single]
BEAUTIFUL TECHNO [Compilation Album] (Special Review)
Love Story [melody. - 10th Single]
HEART [MEG - 12th Single]
READY TO GO! [melody. - 3rd Album]
STEP [MEG - 5th Album]

Selryam seriously reviews too quickly for anyone to catch up with. That said, he has many things to say about the various albums and singles, so you might find a gem or two amongst these releases.

Not everything said is good though, as can be seen here:

It still carries the little bit of horrid that MEG usually brings to a song with her odd vocals, which does get more grating throughout, so I’m not a huge fan. It is cute, though. In a creepy way, if you consider her overall image.

Ouch.

And may I just add, I still think Suzuki Ami is too old to be a pop idol. Or too old-looking at least. D:

[Blogs] Gold Hikari reviews Ayumi’s Mirrorcle World

Mirrorcle World

diegwa does an in depth review of the various tracks of Ayumi’s latest single, having much praise for her 10th Anniversary effort. Praises include the single being “one of Ayumi’s best singles in years and puts Talkin’2 Myself to shame” as well as “a memorable way to begin her 10th Anniversary and new Era”.

And then the picture at the end made me laugh for reasons I shall not re-discuss. xD

[Blogs] Bikkuri Project on thoughts about Kimitsu’s post

I know what I know and that’s all that I know

Celestia has written up an impressive rebuttal to Kimitsu’s post that was covered yesterday. The points she makes are strong contentions, and is essentially saying that a relationship with an idol is pretty much the same relationship you would establish with a friend.

While in parts I find that the rebuttal is dealing with the wrong issues (or has misunderstood Kimitsu’s side of things), but when read side by side, you’d get a real balanced view on the topic as a whole.

Now this is the kind of discussion and interaction I think we Wota-bloggers should have amongst ourselves. A prime example of smart and civilized “arguments”, the two posts are a must read for everyone. All of us should learn from our dear Celestia! Great job girls! (Hohoho, I feel like Charlie on Charlie’s Angels.)

[Blogs] True Life Seek on Haromoni@ (6th & 13th April)

Was Haromoni Worth Watching? April 06, 2008
Was Haromoni Worth Watching? April 13, 2008

On the 6th April episode, our own Broomhead boils the show down to its finest (or boring-est if you may) moments, concluding the whole episode to be pretty much nothing. Which I agree. If a show has to resort to forcing their girls memorize silly things that no one cares about for the dunno-how-many-th week in a row, it shows how the show is sorely lacking in watch-worthy content. The penguin was cute though, you’ve got to admit.

On the 13th April episode, highlights include things like “Linlin (taking) a crap” and “Junjun (doing) some ridiculously cute Sayumish stuff”. Broomhead thinks this might be a successful episode after all, go find out why. He concludes the post by warning us not to get into Haromoni as it may bore you out of your mind yet make you feel guilty should you happen to miss it. Well, I guess that’s why we “safe ones” are lucky to have people like Broomhead to sift out the crap from the crepes for us then!

[Blogs] Fly-ingup has some thoughts on ProDai SP

Proposal Daisakusen SP

Choco-late finds this special episode of Proposal Daisakusen good in parts, confusing in some but had an overall good ending.

I’m just too busy staring at Masami-chan to have my own opinion on this. *swoons*

[Blogs] fly to high on Perfume’s new variety show

HAPPY! - episode 1 and 2

Well, ok, not ONLY Perfume is hosting the show, but I can’t be bothered with the other two to care. xD

Oroitsme reviews the first two episodes of the show, with many screencaps of the girls in their hosting glory (is there even such a thing?). From what I’ve seen, it seems like the show is rather celebrity-blog centric, and so far the topics covered on the show include food, food and make-up. Typical girly stuff. It does remind me of Arashi no Shukudaikun for some odd reason…

Anyways, high speed heart massage for hamsters? That doesn’t sound too relaxing for the poor thing. Read the post and find out which of the girls does it to their poor (or lucky, depending on whether you’re a fan) rodent.

[Blogs] Minna Star on idol achievements and how we know them

A Theory on Idol Attraction?

Kimitsu writes up an article on how she and her sister tells various members of certain idol groups apart from each other. Look out for fascinating labels such as “the other buttsex boy” (I’ll leave you to find out who that is). Extra points for being in denial about Nino.

She then goes on to ponder the different types of fans there are out there, and whether it is wrong to be a “shallow fan” that only knows their idols through different dramas or various “achievements”.

Truth be told, I never did like people who tell me things like “OH YOU LIKE HANAZAWA REI TOO?” (Hana Yori Dango, for those who don’t watch J-dramas). He’s called Oguri Shun for goodness’s sakes. In my opinion, if you’re going to decide to “like” someone, it’s best you learn their real names too. Otherwise, it simply means the person doesn’t matter all that much to you in the first place, but that’s just my opinion.

Her concluding paragraph sums up the topic nicely, and may (because I’m stubborn) force me to reconsider my view on these “shallow fans”. Worth reading and pondering over. How shallow a fan are you?
