Concert High
Waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!! Kyaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! Other general Japanese noises of excitement!!!!!!!
Tonight’s Morning Musume concert was AMAZING!!! Because… because…
Okay. So I’m sitting at the end of the 4th row. I’m close enough to the front left corner of the stage that I could almost touch it, and even though the speakers are blocking most of the back left side of the stage, I don’t care because, during the first song, Miss Risa Niigaki comes over to “my” corner of the stage. She sees me! (I’m foreign, female, and wearing her concert T-shirt which probably helps). Eye contact is made! Her brilliant smile gets even brillianter!! I wave to her (with both hands because I’m too excited)! She waves back! (also with both hands) and we keep waving at each other for what seems like a long time (for a wave), until she turns her attention elsewhere and I literally swoon. I had to grab my chair to steady myself. That was, okay, not the best moment of my life, but I’d put it in the top 10.
Seeing the girls up close while they are performing is awesome. You notice a lot of things that you wouldn’t from further away. Also, I managed to make eye-contact with everyone except for maybe Ai-chan and LinLin, and I got a wave from JunJun too (twice actually). They really are all just so pretty and cute in person. Pictures don’t do them justice.
As for concert specifics…
The lines for goods were insane. I guess since it’s the first Tokyo concert. Glad I already bought what I wanted, though those new mini-trucks are awfully cute…
In the first MC, LinLin said that Santa Clause doesn’t come to China, and she really wants to meet him in Japan. Eri said that Santa doesn’t visit her, which Gaki-san countered with “But LinLin is a good girl, not like Kamei-chan….”. Lol.
In the second MC, Sayu said that someone on a train mistook her for Suzanne (from Pabo). What? I don’t think they look alike, but whatever. Reina said that she once overheard some people talking about her. Person 1: “Hey, that girl looks like Tanaka Reina. Do you think it could be her?” Person 2: “Nah… The real Reina isn’t that tiny”. Aw. Poor Reina. It’s easy to forget that many of them are only around 5ft tall.
Koharu sang the wrong line in the Otome-gumi song. Oops.
But, in Koharu’s favor, there was a Koha fan in a wheelchair in the first row in front of me. I think he had a mental disability as well, and Koharu made a point of coming over and waving to him several times throughout the show. I thought that was nice of her.
Lots of cute member interaction, like Ai and Risa whispering and giggling to each other during the pose at the beginning to Love Machine. Their faces were turned away from the audience, but since I was so far to the side, I could see.
Once again, one of the few tall men in Japan was right in front of me. He wasn’t supposed to be in front of me, but he kept drifting out into the aisle. The usher would physically shove him back to his area, but he’s just move back again. Sigh. Next time, I should wear super duper tall platform shoes. That’ll ensure that the girls notice me. They’d probably be talking about me for years to come!
Momusu 1: “Hey, remember when that foreign girl fell and broke her neck during our concert?”
Momusu 2: “Yeah. Kinda ruined the show, didn’t it?”
And I think that’s all I remember for now. I’ve got another concert coming up tomorrow. I can’t wait!

NOTE: My stupid cat jumped on the keyboard and somehow erased this whole entry the first time around, so I had to type it all again. It was probably better the first time.
