boylikesmusic reviews, previews, revisits, mixes, remixes, podcasts, and stepcharts music from artists all over the globe. Though currently focused on Japanese TechnoPop, other genres from other countries pop in every now and a while. The author’s second favourite musical genre is Drum & Bass of the grimy and fuzzy variety. boylikesmusic first opened up shop on blogger in December 2007 because the author was finding most of his entries on his personal blog to be music related and could survive on their own. He forgets where he got the name of the blog but finds it unoriginal but easy to remember. It relocated to IntlWota.com on July 6th and adopted the wordpress blogging system for greater flexibility and never looked back. By no means does boylikemusic set out to be a source of news, instead, strives to provide thoughtful insights and opinions to the Japanese music (and music in general) blogosphere.

Online, johpan can be found on a number of music communities, like International Wota, last.fm, and imeem, and not so musical communities, like twitter, facebook, steam, and the sort. He’s a contributor on International Wota and a channel operator on its IRC channel #wotachat on irc.rizon.net. There are rumours of him driving around IRC in a white, unmarked van…
He loves to display his Perfume CD collection along with his other Japanese and other favourite CDs. He’s also quite happy about his signed CD collection of The Pipettes, Nicole Atkins, and MAXIMUM THE HORMONE. Along with collecting music, he loves to compose, remix, and mix though due to his perfectionist creative side, not a lot gets released online.
He’s a big computer geek and loves all sorts of electronics and gadgetry. He recently setup his own webserver on his desktop, reachable at http://johpan.thruhere.net, but does most of his computing on his macbook.
He attends college and is hoping to leave with a Bachelor of Applied Technology: Software Development degree. He’s Filipino, 5′7″, and somewhat awesome. He’s also been told he’s fun to clothes shop with and has shapely nails perfect for nail polish. He considers himself to be somewhat metrosexual and technosexual, but is a female when he visits his family in California. His life’s goals are to make the world’s most facepalmable joke and to be an Internet Celebrity.
