So I’ve been away from blog for a bit. I did my little update aside a few days ago but other than that, there hasn’t been any real content since the start of the month. And for those who noticed, I kinda skipped out on Wota Wonderings for this month. (Then again, no one probably did since the post would’ve gone up this Tomorrow (or Sunday morning at 1AM). School’s been all about working on this web-based system for an actual client. Yeah, it’s still school work and it’s being graded but it’s going to someone who may or may not use it in the near future. That’s kinda something, no? The work was free but it was quite the experience. Our showcase is actually in an hour and a half.
But anyway, to keep me sane during coding for the system, I was working on the new blm theme on the side and well, this is it. I put it up yesterday actually but didn’t make a post about it since I was just working out the live kinks. There’s actually one thing I’d like to do to it but I’ll keep that a secret until I actually do it. I’ll give you a hint though: it involves more colour.
Anyway, using the theme I had before (entitled The Morning After) taught me a lot of things I didn’t know about wordpress. I started with modifying little parts and adding them into the theme. It worked, but now that I know how that stuff works, I wanted to do it all from scratch and have the freedom of doing things without having to worry about breaking other sections or sifting through the CSS to change something and figure out the hard way that it affects something else in the theme.
Anyway, I hope you like it. Comments are appreciated. If you want the code for it, just let me know and I can see what I can do about packaging it up. It’s definitely not something that works out-of-the-box. If you like tinkering around in PHP then you might enjoy it.
Anyway, next week is exam week so the week after that should be back to business as usual. It’s gonna be 20C outside today… I want to play some tennis.
