Yonasu continues his “Wota Life” series with an in-depth Q&A with 5 wota, 4 of whom happen to be International Wota contributors. Yonasu asks our own pengie, Amy, CK and Indigo, as well as Hello! Ranking’s Bryan a series of questions digging into the nitty gritty of how old is too old to be into young idols? The candid responses are quite interesting to read, seeing as the respondents range from the ages of 15 to 41, and we have a mix of males and females.
Hmm… This is only the 2nd part of yonasu’s “Wota Life” series. I can’t wait to see what else he’s got on the way.
The big weekend has finally arrived! Morning Musume arrived at Los Angeles International Airport to cheering and fanfare on their way to the Anime Expo press junket. There are a few videos circulating around the internet of the girls coming through customs, and Hello! Sayunii has them for you to check out. Wow, this is exciting!
I wanted to also take this time to remind everyone that this is Morning Musume and UFA’s first public appearance on American soil. I am sure on some levels they are a bit nervous about it. And they want this to be as big a success as we do. This has already become a huge event and they have been in the country for about 10 hours. It would be a good idea to give the organization a little space and allow them to get comfortable. I am sure UFA would love to make everyone happy. But the fact is not everyone is going to get interviews or autographs. As a member of IW staff who is going to be in attendance I am just delighted to be able to see one of my favorite groups perform this weekend. Everything else will be gravy…
OnDiet has screencapped a funny little scene featuring Linlin, Risa and Reina from Morning Musume’s DVD magazine. What starts out as a lesson on laughing in front of the camera turns into a lesson in the difference between “Look” “Lock” and “Rock”. The dialogue is funny. OnDiet did a great job with the stills. All three of the girls look adorable. I haven’t actually seen the DVD, but their personalities really shine through in this brief moment.
I’m not sure what I was laughing harder at…Reina’s metalesque “devil horn” hand gestures or her bashing Linlin on the head ala The Three Stooges. And Linlin is so great when she is goofing off. Good times.
How do you demonstrate your fandom? There are many ways that one can do so and one of the ways that I see is becoming common is Art. Proyekto is a Hello! Project blog that showcases the art drawn by Wynmar. And I must say, his drawings are pretty awesome. As of now, they’re mostly the kids but I hope that he’ll get into more than just them. I would LOVE to see his rendition of Gaki-san!
Anime Expo is just a touch over a week away and Ado at Hello!SayuNii reports that the full Morning Musume schedule is up on the JapanFiles forum. Ado lists and links the information available on the JapanFiles website, while adding a few helpful tips at the bottom of the post to assist fans in ensuring the best possible chance to get themselves some autographs.
In addition to Morning Musume’s events and autograph sessions, there is mention of a Hangry autograph session. I do hope that some additional event(s) are added for Hangry… Would they seriously fly poor Yossy out to the US to do a single 1 hour autograph session?
Check out the direct link to the JapanFiles forum for the latest updates to the schedule.
The tracklist of the upcoming Hello! Project sub-unit album has been revealed. And the new surprise isn’t which girls are in which group, but which sub-units are participating! Totally H!P has the tracklist. In addition to the new MiniMoni, Pucchi Moni and Tanpopo, it looks like ZYX, v-u-den, Aa! and High-King will be making an appearance…Huh? This is a revelation!
Celestia ponders what it all means, and who could possibly be in these new (old) units. Obviously High-King, Aa! and most of ZYX’s original members are still in H!P. But v-u-den? That’s the one that blows my mind since the original group was still performing together just a few months ago. Who has the goods to replace Yui? Which is exactly what Tsukiki is wondering. Not only is she excited about Tsunku’s attempt to bring H!P back to it’s former glory. Tsukiki will be attending the summer concert live. Exciting times indeed!
This is cute! OnDiet does tons of great translations of Morning Musume events and videos, especially when Kamei is involved. During this event from the past weekend the girls hypothesize on what type of part-time job they might want to do if they were normal university students instead of national idols. The responses are as goofy as can be expected, especially from Eri and Koharu. Later on the girls get some dream analysis, and Eri bullies Reina. Some Yankii, eh?
Like the concert MC’s, I enjoy reading these as we get a little peek at what the girls are like in real life. Not that they aren’t aware that they are onstage and performing. But I am sure this stuff isn’t completely scripted. And when they have to think on their feet, their true personalities begin to come out. Even if just a little. Anyway, it’s a cute little read.
And Aichan better be careful of those wolves on bicycles!
Here is a bunch of fresh H!P eyecandy, courtesy of the latest J-pop fan mags. First up, Roselinde scans a Berryz photoshoot from Kindai. Each girl gets a full page, which is nice. I love the pic of Yurina in front of the Phillips 66 sign! That reminds me…is Yurina still getting taller? I saw a still shot from the AloHello! DVD, and I swear she is at least 6 inches taller than Maasa and Chinami. Wow!
In the second post Tom has uploaded what looks like most of the two latest issues of UTB, featuring Manoeri, Takitty, Maimi and Airi…Err, and Maeda Atsuko from AKB48. C’mon Tom, I want to see some of that photoshoot too! But back to the H!P gals, Manoeri looks stunning as usual. Many of the shots are from the girls’ latest photobooks. Do all of the UTB issues come with those photocards? I need a subscription…stat! And it goes without saying, this is top notch eyecandy for your perusal. Enjoy!
K-Snow is back to blogging after a bit of a hiatus and comes forth with shocking information about the new Pucchi Moni that Hello! Project will be spawning soon. K ponders the meaning behind this new info as well as the punctuation inherant in most Hello! Project group names.
Taking a gander at the new Takahashi Ai Alo-Hello! DVD, “I”, Morningtime notices one thing above all else: Takitty’s behind. However, it seems to be the fault of the camera crew for the DVD moreso than a fault (or lack thereof) of Morningtime’s eyes.
He gives the DVD a good review, although he wishes that the first part of the DVD had been omitted (as it is pretty much a second PB making-of) to give more room to the latter part which has Takitty visiting an American university.
As always with a Morningtime post, there are plenty of great pictures accompanying the review.
