Jin Wants To Taste Your Lovejuice
There are two main requirements for Bakanishi solos: that they be very dirty, and that the lyrics be all or mostly in Jingrish (Jin’s special brand of Engrish). “Lovejuice” meets both of these qualifications and then some. Oroitsme shares the lyrics along with a bit of well-deserved snark.

KAT-TUN’s latest single has plenty of solo songs, it would seem, and to my amusement, and clearly Raid’s, this post easily jest’s it’s way through them all. Some are admittedly good, apprently, whilst others don’t fare quite as well. A cracking line from a song is quoted by our own Raid. It goes like this:
“I could tell you want me too Many time I think of you Delicious drink can let’s produce I can taste the sweet LOVEJUICE”
Fantastic! That’s worth downloading. Surely.

Recommended reading. iza04 does an incredible job describing a growing interest in Johnny’s - and Nishikido Ryo in particular - through dramas, especially the current Last Friends where he plays a wifebeater. It’s a thoughtful, well-written piece, and is yet another H!P fan making room in her heart for JE.

Toma Ikuta to Star Alongside Satoshi Ohno In A New Drama (Semified)
Recommended reading. Arashi’s year continues to get better and better, as Ohno gets a starring role in the drama Maou. No word on whether or not Nino will be his suitcase pimp. Semified has some reactions as well, focused on Toma Ikuta rather than Leader, and finding this a welcome development in his career.

Recommended reading. oroitsme considers how much KAT-TUN fans have to spend to get all the KAT-TUNy goodness they can get their hands on, then focuses on the new song and PV from the group - both of which she considers very good. The different formats the single is coming in - and the PV found on the next album - is definitely a huge wallet-gouge, but I’m sure the fans aren’t complaining.

Tackey & Tsubasa “Premium Live DVD-5th Anniversary Special Package-”…just a peak!
MorningBerryz goes through - very briefly - T&T’s latest live DVD, sharing along the way some screen captures, a poll, and a video clip. A little explanation of the three different DVD editions for this release has me thanking myself that I’m not a T&T fan. For the same reason I rarely buy H!P items, there’s just too f****** much.

Our own Celestia lets us in on her song listening habbits. Routine. System. Whatever you wish to call it. Regardless, Celestia has a very brutal, unforgiving streak when it comes to sorting through her music. Still, it’s very telling in that, well, now I know how she catalogues her songs etc. Superb! for the nosey then. Celesta goes onto mention a few songs that didn’t quite cut the mustard at first, but end up having that reprisal factor. Recommended reading.

9nine, Hey! Say! JUMP, Perfume, and Utter Confusion
Our own Julia finds out a few things about 9nine and it gives her a good deal to wrap her mind around - namely, that one of the members is the sister of Perfume’s A~chan, and that another member was kicked out for dating one of the Hey! Say! Jump boys. I think the most interesting point, though, is that Ju Ju has given over to the dark side and is becoming a Johnny’s fan. Wouldn’t it be great if Intl Wota slowly shifted from being predominantly H!P-leaning to JE-leaning? It may just be a matter of time.

Jun Matsumoto visits USC for “Hidden Fortress” Remake
I have watched the video of him introducing himself in English, and it’s super cute. He must have worked so hard! The best part is all the “awww’s” and ecstatic sighs from the fan girls in the audience. Why are Japanese idols always so surprised when they find out they have devoted fans in other countries? Do their agencies keep this a secret from them or something?

My New Hobby (Bikkuri Project)

I really don’t like lumping in Bikkuri Project and KAT-TUN 2 Me together, but it seemed proper here. Celestia has created a bunch of animated gif’s from all the different versions of Resonant Blue as well as from the Arashi tour. In a statement that could apply to the gifs from both, it is now possible to watch these idols shake like fools in a never ending loop.

This has to be the funniest thing I’ve read in a long time, no doubt. Our very own Raid brings home the idea of NEWS going all gay on each other, and he uses great screencaptures to make his point. Now, I think most boybands in general have the capacity to bat sexball with each other, even the groups I love to bits, but this is another level in ’snark’ that I didn’t think Raid had in him. It’s a tad beyond suggestive at times, but it’s so laughably naughty with it, I’m not complaining. Raid’s got his ‘cheeky’ on maximum with this one, and whilst it wont be for some, at least I can have a laugh with him.

Recommended reading. Our own Celestia shares a radio rip of “Don’t You Ever Stop” then proceeds to review what she’s hearing. It’s a very solid, very enjoyable review, and the best part for me was the general observation about the KA part of the group being vastly more popular than the TTUN. (The anecdote she includes is very funny, it reminds me of the Blues Brothers of all things.)

Knowing Raid, this could easily be a fad at his place, and dont be suprised if this is the first and last ever podcast he does. Regardless, he sounds a lot more alive than he did on skype - I guess he got some sleep - and for me personaly, a blogger who likes to figure out the minds of his favourite writers, I’m all for hearing about Raid and Singapore.
Even though the topics of talk are semi-personal, it’s got a nice counterbalance of J-pop yapping, and I like the blend to be honest. Anyway, if you’re getting high off of listening to these casts which have been popping up with more reverance recently, this is worth the listen. Recommended.

TOTO Scolded SMAP -How old rock stars look at JPOP
Recommended reading. Okay, we all know SMAP can’t sing - and some of us still love them anyway - but apparently nobody told TOTO. Much hilarity ensues, at least if you’re not the principals involved. From there, Santos goes on to consider other dinosaur American acts currently in Japan and draws out a larger conclusion from this particular incident. It’s a very solid bit of extrapolation, and something worth thinking about further.

While our own Celestia’s ranking of favorite songs from Arashi and KAT-TUN - as well as Johnny’s in general - is interesting, what I found most enjoyable is early on, when she quickly dismisses all the other units that aren’t Arashi and KAT-TUN. It’s like a ninja blade of casual put-down, they’re all in pieces on the floor before you even realize what happened.

First an underage drinking scandal, now domestic abuse? Just kidding. Our own Raid-kun shares some thoughts on the drama Last Friends and how it suddenly becomes interesting when NEWS / Kanjani8 idol Nishikido Ryo’s character starts beating up his girlfriend. Raid even shares an animated GIF of this scene, which is compelling in a really odd way. Raid praises the show for trying to explore darker topics than your typical drama, and the choice of a Johnny’s boy to play the abuser is reasoned out well. My wife loves Lifetime Movies, so she’ll probably get a kick out of this.

Arashi delivers the ultimate concert experience in “Summer Tour 2007 Final Time-kotoba no chikara-”
Morningberryz does a very pro-Arashi review of their ‘Summer Tour 2007 Final Time-kotoba no chikara-’ DVD, and fans of the super-JE group are going to relish every single word of this entry. Whilst it’s admittedly like an exteneded advert, it’s motivation is usually brought back to a fan perspective with typical whimsical touches from MB, and his Mom shares some very interesting insights - always a bonus - on the Arashi lads. Apparently, Aiba looks like a Samurai. Cleary, she knows what she’s on about.
Personally, I think ‘Time’ is such a good album, I honestly haven’t seeked out any other Arashi past and present material, bar their ’step and go’ single, and the fact that I’m content with just one record of theirs says a lot, I reckon. Clips are uploaded for your viewing pleasure, and I dont need to tell anyone in the appropriate circles how f****** great the DVD appears to be. A must read for Arashi fans.
