Memorable Snippets: Intro and Part 1 - Kago Ai “Aibon’s Crime”
I’ve been thinking of starting a new series for my blog, and after putting it back week after week, I’ve decided it’s time to start!
As you can see from the title, this new series of mine is endearingly called ‘Memorable Snippets’. Basically, I’m gonna take random clips from anything within H!P history that has caught my fancy and just state why I love that particular clip so much. Each clip will focus on one member (maybe more than one, but at the moment, I’m thinking of highlight one member per clip), even though others may be in the clip as well.
There is no order to which girls I’ll be highlighting, it really all depends on what I’m in the mood to reminisce on. I may do a second or third clip on one girl before getting to the first one of another. It all depends. For those who have seen these clips before, I hope they give you a little blast from the past. For those who for some reason or another haven’t had the chance to stumble upon these clips, I hope you enjoy them! I’m going to try to make this a weekly thing, but I apologize in advance for any weeks where that doesn’t happen (I’d laugh really hard if next week I didn’t have a new clip ready… XD).
To kick this series off, I thought I’d start with one of my favourite moments featuring Kago Ai.
I meant to write up a post regarding my thoughts on Aibon’s return to the entertainment industry, but after numerous drafts (I tried writing a piece at least 5 times) where nothing was sounding right, I scrapped that idea. Basically, I’m glad to see she’s okay, and I wish her all the best in her future endeavours. However, as much as I loved her as a part of Hello! Project, I don’t know how much of her new work I’ll be seeing because I don’t really watch Japanese dramas or movies unless they’re subbed, so depending on the availability of subbing, I may see no more of Aibon (other than translations of her blog).
She’s definitely grown up since the days of her first joining Hello! Project, and I thought in a sort of backwards way to welcome her back (however delayed this may be) into the public eye, although it’s far from Hello! Project, I’d share this clip of her. Ironically enough, it’s highlights a ‘crime’ that she committed against a fellow Morning Musume member back in the day. It’s a clip from a 2003 episode of Hello! Morning.
So without further ado, I present “Aibon’s Crime”!
What is it about this clip that tickles me so? Well, did you watch it? It’s so random!! Yossy is so “WTF? Crazy Aibon!”, while Kago just laughs it off. It shows off Kago-chan’s mischievous side and it’s such a great shot of vintage Aibon.
