@Kirarin☆Snow ☃: My bad. It was the Another Version PV. I knew that, but didn't think to make the distinction... And I agree, a lot of H!P decisions make no economical sense. I just hope they don't keep screwing up in regards to Aya.

@SB: Yes, Kizuna is horrid for her image. T_T Starting people off with the poppy side of Aya would probably be the best bet, but I just don't get why so many people can't appreciate her ballads. They are beautiful and like you said, she sings them with passion and emotion. Oh well, it's their loss, right? XD

@Zac: Momoiro could be used as an introductory Ayaya song, but of course it always depends on who you're recommending her to.

@Big D: I only watched the Kizuna PV once. I can't bring myself to watch it again. But I saw the Hey! Hey! Hey! Music Champ performance, and I really liked the song as I watched her sing it in something that made her look more her age. It is really quite amazing how the look affects one's perception of a song. UFA really screwed up for Aya on this one...

I love Ayaya's voice, I agree that she could work wonders with it. She could sound high and cute and adorable in one song and then have a good, deep ballad in another. and she pulls it off very nicely. I liked the song, Kizuna as well, but when i watched the PV, it was sooo boring. And her clothes and that hair! She looked like a grandma! but we all know that's not true. What the hell was the stylist thinking? They worked at a nursing home or what? I thought that she(or UFA)might want to try out for a more mature look, but NOT THAT MATURE! They might want to pass the young and cute look and aim for a mature and serene image, BUT THEY MISSED AND IT LANDED IN GRANDMA'S LAND!
do it right next time UFA, don't ruin Aya's image.

Yeah, I'm with SB on Momoiro. It's the song that got me into Ayaya, and I would definitely recommend it as a first to any H! P fan looking to get into her.

Hahahaha, well i saw Kizuna so i came to the conclusion that she was Yuko's age...

But the thing is now, whoever wants to get into Aya, I think, the best songs to start of with would be undoubtedly, momoiro kataomoi and maybe I know. Both songs show Aya's poppy side despite her more mature look.

Then finish of with her gorgeous ballads, filled with a lot of heart and passion.

I honestly don't know why her ballads don't sell as well as her other stuff, maybe people perceive H!P to be more along the lines of Idol-pop, not Idol-ballad...

Thanks Maize :D

Ayaya rocks! I must point out though that "Zutto"'s "interesting PV" was the "another edition" version and not the main one (another terrible messup on H!P's part, as with "THE Manpower!!!" and "Resonant Blue"), so I don't know how much of an effect that one had in terms of promoting the single.

Or maybe it was H!P's lame decision to feature the close-up version as the main version that brought about Ayaya's drop in popularity... :(

Looking at the sales figures for Ayaya's singles, it's clear that all of her upbeat songs have sold significantly more than her ballads during the same time frame (including "Ki ga Tsukeba Anata" in 2005). I don't know what's motivating H!P's poor decisions, but it makes no economic sense.
