Memorable Snippets: Part 12 - Kago Ai (w/ special mention to Niigaki Risa) “Welcome to Kago’s World”
I’ve been looking for a particular episode of Utaban, but I haven’t been able to find it. However, during my search, I found some old subbed episodes with Morning Musume. 2 of these episodes contain an evil ballon game. I had seen part of the original game, back when Morning Musume was at the 4th generation. I absolutely abhor ballons. The scare the life out of me… So watching this massive balloon floating over Maki was terrifying for me, as a viewer. XD
However, I did not realize that they played this game again… And the clip I’m sharing here is from the second time they played it.
This episode of Utaban aired on Dec 26, 2002, and the subs are by xMorfis, or that’s what’s within sqaure brackets in the file name, so I’ll assume that’s who subbed it.
Anyway, here’s the clip before I get into my love of this snippet.
I seriously cannot stop from laughing when I watch this, and since downloading it I’ve watched it over ten times. Basically, the has a topic, and each person needs to add to the list, after saying what those before them have said, in order.
I just love Aibon’s answers and the fear you hear in her voice and see on her face… And I simply could not stop cracking up at her 4 kanji idiom. And the sidenote of “Please enjoy Kago’s world for a while” simply killed me… And it showed up twice. XD
As for Gaki-san having a special mention, I just love her reaction in the first few seconds of the clip when Taka-san turns her air on for a second, and her facial expression when her balloon finally pops. XD
This game was so fun to watch, and it makes me miss the days of Morning Musume on Utaban. You know, those girls were continuously tortured on that show… It always amazed me that they kept returning for more torture. XD Masochists….

I haven’t seen one of these episodes in ages and I really love them too! Utaban really grew up alongside Momusu in a sense and I think they both really benefited from each others presence in their earlier days. Too bad we don’t see too much of this anymore with the newer generations but this clip you’ve chosen is really one of those true gems! I think they played this um “game” quite a few times and Takasan really had his evil game face on!
I remember he would even turn it on when they weren’t even being penalized! lol! He’s one of the funniest hosts out there and the comradeship with Nakaikun is second to none I think. Thank you for uploading this…brings back great memories of their horror and shock! These days I enjoy watching Ohchan of Arashi get under the skin of Nakaikun with the help and influence of one wacky Takasan each and every time that they’re on the show! ^o^
