More Concerts

Published by celestia at 9:12 am under News

First of all, congratulations to KAT-TUN for successfully completing 8 consecutive nights at Tokyo Dome and setting a record!!!

It seems that at tonight’s concert it was announced that KT will be having a summer tour, though I’m not sure if it’s a whole new tour or just a sort of continuation of this Tokyo Dome blitz, and whether or not they will be using the same costumes/set list. The performances all seem to be in places pretty far from Tokyo (from Okinawa to Hokkaido), so I guess they’re aimed at fans who live too far from Tokyo to go to the current set of concerts. On the other hand, I wonder if this was really just decided recently or if they’ve deliberately not told anyone that they’ll be touring outside of Tokyo and Oosaka in order to entice fans who live further away to come help with the Tokyo Dome record because they thought it would be their only chance to see KAT-TUN this year. Hmmm…

Well, possible questionable marketing techniques aside, KAT-TUN is certainly getting a lot of attention this year! Too bad that these new summer concerts are going to be held too far from where I live for me to attend. There’s still a couple Tokyo Dome shows left at the tail end of the current tour though….

Hello celestia. I’m Sya from Malaysia. I read your con reports & it really make me want to go to the con myself. I actually make a last minute plan to go to their Osaka Con on 30th May but I didn’t have a ticket. I figure out how to go there but I just didn’t know how to get the ticket. I just would like to know whether if they actually sell tickets outside the Kyocera Dome. How is the process? Do they sell the ticket to non-Japanese? Where did they usually sell the ticket? This is my first time going to Japan & also to their con so I don’t really know the procedures. I really hope you can help me.

Well… I haven’t been to a concert in Osaka, so I don’t know the specifics for the Kyocera Dome. I’m sure that there will be scalpers selling tickets, but you should probably get there pretty early just in case. In Tokyo, the scalpers were just outside the nearest train station, but again, I don’t know the situation in Osaka, and there are no guarantees. I’m sure they would sell to a foreigner as long as you had money, though you’d best be careful that you’re buying a ticket for the right night. Maybe copy down the date in Japanese if you can’t read Japanese. There are also ticket resellers, which is less sketchy than scalpers, but I don’t know where they might be located in Osaka. It’s definitely too late to buy tickets directly from Johnny’s at this point.

Sorry I can’t be more helpful!

    Hi Gabi.

Concert ticket prices vary a lot depending on how good the seat is. I’d say for a “bad” seat for a Arashi concert nowadays it’s $500-$600. For KAT-TUN, more like $250-$300. For a good seat to either group, expect to pay over $1000.

I buy my tickets from resellers in Tokyo. You’ll get a better deal there than you would from an online auction. There’s a good one on Takeshita street in Harajuku called Gorakudo.

    Hope that helps!
