A metal-infused take on Japanese music

Although it’s admittedly incredibly difficult to follow that last intro (nicely crafted, skald), I will nonetheless make an attempt.

So, how to sum up me? Hmmm….

Let’s start with music. I love music. I’ve been a musician/composer my whole life (read: jobless loser). I started out playing cello in a youth orchestra and currently play, that’s right, guitar in a gypsy folk band. My favorite music to listen to falls somewhere between a teenage girl in Shibuya playing a DS on a crowded train, a mad scientist designing an army of droids to wreak havoc upon the planet (the design process mind you, not implementation), a psychotic necromancer raising the dead to serve as his necro-nubile concubines so that he can enjoy the thrill of simultaneously engaging in intercourse and trying to keep from being eaten by the zombie he’s engaging with, and a vile 7-headed demon raping and burning it’s way throughout the cosmos devouring countless souls on its way.

If you must have list data, here are some fave artists:

Frank Zappa, Various H!P (notable fave members for those who care: Aibon, Yossie, and Nakazawa-sama), 9mm Parabellum Bullet, Hiromi Uehara, Melt Banana, Le Silo, Koenji Hyakkei, Limited Express (is gone?),  Sleepytime Gorrila Museum, Thinking Plague, Igor Stravinski, Gojira, Basil Paledouris, Cannibal Ox, Cannibal Corpse, NWA, Geto Boys, Decapitated, Aborted, Death, Yes, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Anglagard, Underground Railroad, Allan Holdsworth, Guthrie Govan, Ladytron, Vader, Happy the Man, Psycroptic, Blotted Science, Behold the Arctopus, Psyopus, To-Mera, Daughters, etc., etc., etc. I could go on indefinitely. Basically, if it’s fucking awesome, well I fucking love it.

Other factoids:

- I really like punctuation. Particularly the ellipsis [...] and of course parentheses.
- I have never played Dungeons and Dragons, but I’ve read almost all of the source books.
- I speak Japanese a little. I’d really like to get into subbing the MC sections of my favorite concerts…
- I am a magician.

Yeah, I know, snooze-fest. Hey, it’s an intro post. What do you expect?

So, my purpose here is to spread the gospel of belligerent, drunken, brutal insanity in a manner befitting this blog. I will do my best to stay crazy and be myself. I’m sure the majority of my posts will end up dwindling into the depths of my own depraved and twisted imagination, but I guess that’s why Henkka asked me to be involved. At least I hope so. For his sake.

So, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to get tanked in celebration of the relaunch of this blog…
