Around the internet, people have been calling Matsuura Aya a granny because of her lacy outfit and matronly hair bun. I have to disagree. She looks like one of those twenty year olds they get to play middle-aged women in those Olay old woman skin cream commercials. (1, 2) You know those ones who look way too old to be twenty but way too young to be fourty? Yup.

Anyways, the Kizuna music video aired today. It’s boring and looks like one of those made-for-the-Pucchi-Best-DVD music videos (see: Maeda Yuki and/or Nakazawa Yuko.) Come on Tsunku, let’s get this Matsuura stuff together. I’m surprised she hasn’t left a la Goto Maki yet. Not that I want her to, but this doesn’t really seem like a quality release.

The single will be released on May 21 and the Single V will hit stores on June 4.

Tsunku and his trophy wife, Kanako, have become proud parents of both a boy and a girl. Kanako gave birth on April 29. The girl was born first at 3:46am weighing 4 pounds, 13.9 ounces. The boy came shortly after at 3:52am weighing 4 pounds, 7.3 ounces. The names of the children have not been decided yet, but there will be an official announcement later on. All of the family members are in good health.

The video above demonstrates that even though you wear extremely tight pants, you can still have babies. Yeah, that’s about it. I didn’t really have any good Tsunku pictures so this is what y’all get. Deal with it.

Long-time Hello!Project member Ayaka is graduating on April 30. This isn’t that surprising. I mean, the last time I heard her voice on a CD was the “hey DJ” part of Egao YES Nude.

What is more surprising is that in the official press release it states that Ayaka will be graduating from both Coconuts Musume and Hello!Project. Did they really need to put in that part about Coconuts Musume? Coconuts Musume has been dead for almost 4 years now. Yeah, I know she’s still credited as Ayaka (Coconuts Musume), but come on!

In an official statement, Ayaka has expressed that she would like to continue on in show business as an actress.

I’m definitely sad to see her go. I guess there really isn’t much point in watching the Elder Club concert anymore. I really only watched it for Biyuuden, Ayaka and Nacchi. Now that 2 of the 3 are gone, and that Nacchi gets her own concerts, I can pretty much pass on downloading those monster-sized files. I’m not too broken up about it, considering I’m more of a Wonderful Hearts man myself. Uh, now I’m starting to sound like those people I hate on forums. Look what you made me do, Ayaka!

Usually when people say “first!” it’s really an annoying thing. This time it ain’t so bad, especially for Morning Musume. Today they recieved an invitation to perform a concert in Shanghai in celebration of the Shanghai World Expo 2010. They are officially the first Japanese artists to take part in the promotion. The concert will take place on June 28, 2008. 

The outfits used in the press conference are like those from Mikan only less bedazzled and with more lace. On previous occasions, the costumes that they wore overseas were cute. I don’t know what happened here, but it’s a tragedy! Satoda Mai, use your fashion sense to help these girls out.

The cover to the DVD of their first concert, Ongaku Gatas First Concert Tour 2008 Haru ~Mi Zaru Shuku Zaru GOODSAL!~, is above. This is the only Ongaku Gatas concert to feature the two now ex-members Mano Erina and Mutou Mika.

The concert DVD will be released on May 28.

TV Station

The cover (left) to Matsuura Aya’s 20th single, Kizuna, has been posted on TV Station. The single V cover (right) has also been posted.

UFA is dumb and waited too long to release this single. The single was announced in December 2007 and the Japan Special Olympics (for which Kizuna was the official song) were two months ago. It probably should have been released then.

Anyways, the single is officially coming out on May 21 and the Single V will be released on June 4.

Ongaku Gatas member and resident Matsuura Aya look-alike, Mutou Mika, has decided to graduate from Hello!Project. This includes her responsibilities in Ongaku Gatas, Gatas Brilhantes H.P. and H!P Eggs. She just wants to lead a normal life. The official date of graduation is April 30, 2008.

Ongaku Gatas seems to be falling apart. Mano Erina graduated for a solo career and now Mutou Mika. They need an intervention (or at least a new single) before everybody else takes a hike.

Hello!Project

Former Morning Musume member Yaguchi Mari participated in the Minna no Fitness event on April 27. Minna no Fitness is a free internet workout. 

When asked about the comebacks of former Hello!Project members Goto Maki and Kago Ai, she replied that she hasn’t been in contact with them and doesn’t know any of the details.
