NEWS: Tsunku, Shimizu Saki and Yajima Maimi landed in Korea earlier this evening in order to kick of H!P’s Korean auditions. Saki, the Captain of Berryz Koubou, & Maimi, the Leader of C-ute, will represent the H!P girls at the auditions much like Morning Musume did at last year’s Taiwan auditions.
The three arrived, greeted by fans, at the airport before attending a press conference and posing for photographs.
Korean auditions are quite exciting. I got swept up in the Taiwan NEW STAR auditions so I will no doubt love the Korean ones which are also apparently televised.
While I love Ice Creamusume, I still really want to see a hard hitting, mature group in H!P. I really thought ICM would be that group but it doesn’t look like it so far - they’re more sweet and cute.
Tsunku is going to have to really bring something unique and good to the table in a Korean group to compete with the current crop of K-pop Idol groups. I’m guessing we’re looking at an SNSD or (cute) Kara clone group - but I’d rather see a group like the Wonder Girls or After School….
…but I’m getting majorly ahead of myself lol. Auditions first! Let’s go!

The R&B genre tends to be more sexual. In the U.S. only a few R&B artists haven’t stripped down yet (Jojo, Keke Palmer) and that is because they are underage.
Also artists who began to add R&B beats to their music such as, Hilary Duff (With Love), Britney Spears (I’m a Slave 4 U) Lindsay Lohan (Rumors) have also started to strip down.

I guess that’s true Lizzie, but you can do a mature urban/R&B group without it being overtly sexual. I will admit After School do play on their sexuality but Wonder Girls, while sexy, don’t play so much on it.

I can see Maimi on this trip, because C-ute will need another member if Kanna’s bad toe turns out to be a career-ender. As for Saki, Berryz might need new talent because of impending graduations; Risako might be outgrowing the group, and Momoko might get even more tied up in red-hot Buono.
Plus, I don’t see Tsunku putting together a fuill-blown Korean group like he did in Taiwan with Ice Cream Musume. It could well be more like he did with Morning Musume when he teleported LinLin and JunJun in from China.
