[remix] Dream Fighter -fragments mix-

Joh does a great job at remixing Perfume’s Dream Fighter, and it’s up for your listening/downloading pleasure. Stripped down and Subdued, we’re left with a simple kicking beat and we have a hollow, echo sounding effort which lulls along nicely. It’s a mellow, trippy experiance. I’m a fan already. Oh and Joh’s moved homes if you didn’t already know, so update your links.

[single review] MEG - PRECIOUS

Johpan has a review of MEG’s PRECIOUS single, detailing each track with a nice technical touch for sound and with plenty of enthusiasm. A good combination - if you can get it right - that had me enjoying the read from start to finish. Although I’m not a huge MEG fan, things certainly look promising for her and her techno-pop ways.

[album review] MEG - STEP

Johpan of boylikesmusic does a track-by-track review of MEG’s STEP. Johpan lists the tracks down from worst to first instead of in order of the CD listing. The review focuses on two parts of the album, MEG’s voice and Nakata Yasutaka’s music.

With Nakata producing for more and more acts, I think it is legit to ask what really separates the acts from each other. Is it simply the sound of the act’s voice or does Nakata make different music depending on the act? Or is it a combination of the two? Johpan indirectly provides an answer to this question while talking about “SEARCHLIGHT”:

It oozes Nakata and capsule but for some reason, MEG just turns it into something completely her own.
